netlove?
ok after doing some thinking myself I wanna ask a little question to all you folks out there...
do you think it's possible to fall in love with someone over the net that you haven't met yet?
I've been thinking a lot of this myself and yes, I believe you can...although you might get just as disapointed when you met ht person in real life later and vice versa
no. lust maybe. infatuation maybe. not love.
only my opinion, but that's what you asked for.
that doesn't mean you shouldn't use it though, to pick just who you'd like to meet. but, be careful throwing that word love around, it's pretty powerful, trust me i know.

I think if you can fall in love with somebody over a computer it's absolutely pathetic.
No way mate, the net is only a mindgame, yes it can be love, but it's not THE love, it's something what replaces real love.
Real love can only arise when 2 people have real contact with eachother, its the physical contact and the feeling when u'r with the other person that make u fall in love, the combination of being attracted by someone physically and mentally.
Internet is only mentally so u can be very dissapointed when u meet the person in real life (trust me, I experienced this)
well ok not maybe love...love is to strong
but i mean, let's say that the person your'e talking 2 is not lying, shouldn't it be possible then...after all it's almost always the inside you fall in love with and not the looks (at least in my case, looks is just a bonus)
not love...youre in love with the internet if anything. what little of a relationship can be based over the net, you could get from almost any random stranger provided there was fact time.
oh, and does anyone think there should be a new forum called: 'Ask Swamper' where people make threads about burgeoning relationship issues where Swamper and other appointed mods can answer in a frank, yet caring manner?!?! thats a great idea|

Never doubt the power of love
I don't think I'd fall for someone I haven't actually met, but it doesn't mean someone else won't be able to have this... er... unique... experience
There are people who got married this way, aren't there? I've seen something like that on TV.
Well, if they're happy with their choice, I'm not going to judge them
Well In my case. I met a girl at skewl and never really got to know her t0o well before I had moved away. After that we talked constantly over the net and such and built a very strong relationship.
After we graduated we started see'n each other and after a period of time we fell in love and still are.
I think it can build ur relationship up but not ever having contact with the person before that aint love.
grr pushed wrong button srry about that

Over then net, the way you act/speak etc may not be a true depiction of your true self. For that reason I think that LOVE over the net is truely impossible... As people have already said, I feel the net can build a relationship (speaking from experience
) but can't find "true" love...
On the other hand, you could claim that the net rips away the physical side to a relationship and breaks it down to simply to the mental part... Making it a relationship not distorted by looks
I still apt for the first though, people who claim otherwise may be being a little too indulgent.
>>>there was some weener on here that was going to america to see some lass he met on the net, don't know whether he did it or not, but I noticed he posted a while back that he'd shag anything that moves <<<
Thank you "Az". DO you ever think before you type? That "weener" you are talking about is me. You ever consider that you could insult someones feeling when you type like that? Oh wait no you don't!!! I don't have anything against meeting someone on the net...I mean seriously, why restrict yourself to only socializing in real life? Love/friendship can be found anywhere, not just in a bar/party/school/work
But, you should hold yourself back a little, cause developing a true deep love and then having a relationship over the net will be painful in the end.
