Sounds 4 U

Hi people !
2nd try for the ultimate sound echange thread...
please do no more posts concerning the download of Samples from commercially available sampling cds...this could bring problems for everybody involved...

I will post only sounds which I have made myself or someone here from
the tranceaddict site.
I also got a huge amount of downloaded samples from the web... I will use them as a base for new sounds and I will give as soon as possible some examples so that you know that the sounds I talk about are really phat !

Someone asked me whether it was a good idea to make high quality sounds available to everybody.
For me I don't mind giving some quality patches to everybody...

But what do you all want ? Public sounds or just for the people who deliver quality material ? Please tell me...

Iv already asked trancevision this but would it be possible to host the files on the tranceaddict dc hub? Then only TAs could get to them and bandwidth would be less of a problem? Just an idea.

Thumbs up

i have no problem with other ppl using my sounds either...so public is oke with me, although it would be nice to get something in return
i like the idea of sounds-sharing!

the ta hub is oke, but i cant download from users that are in passive mode cos im in passive mode as well and not many ppl have a lot of slots, so that makes queues
maybe we can use irc? anyone known with irc? we can start a (secret/private/+key) channel and send eachother sounds by dcc or using fserves..
although the best way would be an ftp we all have access to, so we can upload in our own folders and download from eachothers folder...

hope more people are interested in this.

John, very nice patches, would love to get hold of them!

I think using the TA DC Hub would be a great way to share the files as getting a FTP going maybe difficult.

Well if u get somthing up and running ill be happy 2 share my samples and paches ...

Posted by Trancevision on Nov-02-2002 14:25:

rahvin set up an ftp for all the people who deliver quality patches:

Before we make the sounds available to everyone, at first the involved people of the sound exchange thread / TA Refill will get the
quality sounds !

Perhaps we can make it this way, that everyone who delivered at least 2 "quality patches" will get a personal Login and Password.
Is this ok for you all ? Please give comments...!

but now I got something 4 U

DOWNLOAD SOUND DEMOS

I hope the bandwith isn't exceeded too soon...

Good Idea!

I will try to dig out some good samples.

Posted by Tom_cowan on Nov-02-2002 17:09:

Nice job with the download page trancevision, the melodys really pick out the good spects of each patch. What did you use to make shokk patch? Im guessing there still aint ne descent bass patches? Im sure we'll get some at some point. As for the two quality samples thing, sounds like a good plan, it should give people a descent enough incentive to send patches in.

So whos gonna set up an ftp then?

well I think that everyone should have access to them.....I remember when I was a complete newbie to producing and I didn't know where to get help or get sounds or anything......I don't want that to happen to others...makes many newbie producers to quit because they don't know where to get help

No Problemo

I got some other cool patches and samples, I'll post them as soon as they are ready

Posted by rahvin on Nov-03-2002 04:12:

I've setup the FTP on a dedicated system. Please PM me for login/pass info and include the login and password you would like to have.

Address: 24.100.214.165 or bassheavy.net
Port:21

It's private for now, so only people involved in some form of production are going to have access atm. Questions, comments, sugestions for the ftp just let me know. I also run a webserver, so if you guys want to have all this stuff hosted via http I can set that up to.

Vizay, I agree with U totally

Posted by Joi Lamusic on Nov-03-2002 11:03:

so true, but there will also be a lot of people who know where to get sounds and can create em theirselves as well and will never do anything in return

@rahvin

i pm-ed ya thnx for setting up that ftp!!

Posted by Vizay on Nov-03-2002 14:36:

why not use a creditsystem on the ftp......when you get your login you will be able do D/L say....5 sounds or 10 sounds or something like that....then after that you must start upload sounds to be able to download more....I know that it works on some ftp's....anyone else that think this is a good idea....I mean it will probably help the soundbank to grow bigger and bigger

I think we could make it this way:
From time to time, we will post samples for everyone to download like Bren-F did ( thank you very much ) so that the newbies ( and leechers ) will have also some good stuff to start from.

The FTP should be available ONLY for those people who spent lots of time in making sounds and patches ! ok for you all ?

I will upload the stuff on when I get my own PC back ( hope on tuesday )...

everyone pm rahvin for an account now
i uploaded a few substractor and malmstrom patches to the ftp now (the same i sent to trancevision for the refill tho heheh)

Awesome, ill get my acount sorted tonight, its great how everybodys helping on this one, well done trancevision
The private FTP sounds good, then if newbies ask for help we can just post stuff like bren did. Havent got the bren patches yet but im looking forward to em.

Remember its quality we're after not quantity, you dont want to have to sort through a world of shit before you get any good samples like on most sample sites.

Posted by ms_bug on Nov-04-2002 10:56:

please just tell me-do we upload synth patches or just wav files how our synth sounds? or both?

i have some great ones on Pro-52 but can't save patch. when loading nothing changes (knobs stay where they are). do you know what may be the problem (how to save).

trancevision - congrats, really nice work
rahvin - thanx for FTP

cheers
