I don't really like trance with breakbeats so much, but in the early 90's until around '95 some nice breakbeat stuff was released... a few examples of my favorites :

Breakbeat1.mp3
- unidentified track from Dj Dano's set at Mayday 94

Breakbeat2.mp3
- Jimmy J & Cru-L-T - Take me away

Breakbeat3.mp3
- unidentified track from Marusha's set at Mayday 95

Though I'm not sure, if that's what you asked for

Umm, yeah... so... what's the difference?

First of all, the biggest difference is the BPM - breaks are around 120-140bpm and drum'n'bass is 160-200bpm (about).

Breaks are usually more complicated as well, a lot of sampling, melodies and stuff.

Posted by Renegade on Nov-03-2002 17:25:

Some recent "proggy" breaks that may interest you:

Greyarea - One For the Road (<-- Insane)
Our House - Fire & Ice
Penton & Duran - Control Factor (Noel Sanger Remix)
Force Mass Motion vs Dylan Rhymes - Vanquish
Switchshift - Head Pressure (Original Breaks Mix)
Lustral - Broken (Way Out West Mix)

Well, it's a start.
