Gouryella - Ligaya [Blue Arctic Stars Remix]

Hi there!

I know, some people like the original, others don't. But I liked the original that much, so I decided to do a remix. I finished it in 2 weeks, and I think the result is pretty nice..
It's been made in Reason 2.

Very impressive, I like it as well!

sounds very good bas! (=blue arctic stars, i dont know your first name) i like your build up, and nice synths used. sounds pro!
there's only one thing that bothers me and that is that at the points where the melody 'starts again' it doesn't sound right..hmm in english it sounds shit, ill explain you in dutch

[dutchmode]
[/dutchmode]

the first part of the break where you filter the strings is too long..or not needed at all..maybe you can try cutting that part out of it? or just start with the strings as they come in from the 4.44 spot
anyways, i like this remix a lot..like it more then h&h's, except for that one thing i mentioned in dutch great work,
keep it up!

john

1. 4.43 sounds wrong. And the loop of teh strings i dont think is necessary, i think the melody should begin there.

2. I think there is some interference noise in teh strings when they first come in.

3. I really like the synth, is it subtractor?

4. Bassline is mint

5. The breakdown could be abit more immense

6. A great remix. Really enjoyed it! Well done!!

Thumbs up

Really good remix! Powerfull lead , I like that!
Breakdown could have been more interesting tho...but it's still very good!

Well done!

some things:

the claps are a bit 2 loud imo..
i really like the sort of breakbeat in it
nice atmospheric sounds!
strings sound a bit strange..
main lead is very good

u did a very good job on this.. sounds very proffesional!

grtz,

dj mantis

Wow!

First of all, thank you for the great replies! I read your comments carefully, and I'm currently improving the remix. I cut the first part of the strings and I tried to improve them. I'm also improving the breakdown, because many people say it's a bit "boring".
The new re-edited remix will be available soon! So keep updated!!

Cheers!

Blue Arctic Stars

To DaveC: Yes, the main lead is substractor

very nice, one thing i don't like is the clap, it's not too loud, but it doesn't fit in

Posted by DJ-Ande on Nov-05-2002 22:24:

Dancing Dude

not bad at all, pretty good, better than what hiver & hammer could do!!!!!

& i agree that the high pitched clap after the beat doesn't fit 2 well

*Beautiful bassline!!
*I love how it slowly builds
*The melody at 4 caught me off guard totally
*Sharp contrast between initial melody and the first presence of it... maybe bring it in more subtly
*Possibly bring bass line out more at 5:30
*Overall great interpretation!

Hello!

Thanks for all the feedback! It's been great.
The final version of the remix is available now. I choose another clap, the strings are a little bit different, the bass comes out more in the climax, and the mastering is also a bit better now.

I hope you all like the final version!

WOW!!!
Amazing mix pal, love everything about it!
I still had no time ot listen to all the mixes of Ligaya, but this is certenly one of the best, and in my opinion better than Ferry's..

Great Job...
When I see works like this, I see i'm realy far away from producing real tracks ...

hands down to this crazy ass remix!

very nicely done. (lol I know I'm a little bit late on things)

I know it would be hard to make the chorus part more energetic and uplifting but give that a try man. The buildup is waaaaaaay too powerful and can't let that go to waste!
