Kinda sick, but gonna have some beers anyway.

Cozy evening with beer and Netflix. We're trying to watch as many Finnish TV series and movies as possible to expose my girlfriend to more Finnish.

Surely there has to be a less torturous way.

Trying to get through what has felt like a week of fuckin' Mondays.

Posted by Trance-M on Mar-09-2018 21:08:

Back to regular Fridays. Had football training with the boys, tomorrow morning at 9 on the field for a match, the end of sleeping out on Saturdays, unfortunately.

I have that entire series on DVD.

Also, that building in the background of that video at 2:20? I lived a hundred meters from it for five years.

Fully settled in with baby now. Definitely enjoying this time before I go back in 2 weeks. My work gave me 6 weeks paid leave, pretty nice. Also trying to ramp up to getting back in the water in the mornings for swim practice.

I need a weekend off, if only to repay my sleep debt. I've spent most of this evening ironing clothes, then went for a glass of wine. That's about as intense as it will get.

Posted by DJ RANN on Mar-10-2018 02:58:

Worked all day, but now hom and about to jump in my hot tub and hope that my two extremely boisterous cats don't entirely destroy the house by the time I'm finished.

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Mar-10-2018 03:49:

ugh. spending all weekend cleaning up after my shit tenants who left heaps of junk around when they moved out.

luckily it's a long weekend here. i like to message stu when i have a day off and he doesn't, i'll pass on everyone's regards.

Wtf is he up to?? I wish he'd come back to us!

The highlight of my Friday comes in the form of a question to English speakers: Does the sentence "My world is mesmerised" make any sense in a song?

I'm playing with a sample pack, and I got this after some cutting and pasting a few words. It sounds good, but it doesn't seem this particular phrase has ever been strung before according to Google, so I wonder if it's just gibberish. This is supposed to come right after the phrase "you got me mesmerised". Or mesmerized, if you will.

Haha, it must be so weird to randomly spot the place you live on TV. It only happened to me when I saw this video by Front 242:

I drive by these buildings pretty much every week

Eh, I guess you could stretch it to mean something like my world is enchanted but normally only living things can be mesmerized.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Mar-11-2018 09:26:

It makes no sense, but that's never held back famous song lyrics in the past.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Mar-11-2018 11:25:

It makes sense if you assume IGK came up with it.

Yeah, this is the "semantic leap" I was hoping native speakers could take! I guess it sounds unnatural but it isn't incomprehensible then

Well, I guess you and the Gallagher brothers have just convinced me. It's been 23 and I still don't know what a Wonderwall is

Haha, he's a native speaker, so I'll take that as a yes

I just didnt want Liam to chin you.

So does it ruin the song knowing the origins of the word was an old peeping Tom professor?
