Confused How to use cue files in nero???

I'm using nero v5.5 and I wanted to know how to use cue files in it...

Posted by El~ZaPo on Nov-14-2002 02:02:

You can't use the wizard for this. You have to go manually from the menu. File --> Burn Image... Then tell it to look for all files, and choose the cue file you are using. It will pop up the options for burn speed etc and you tell it to burn. Voila!

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Nov-15-2002 05:18:

can nero burn

*.cue files?

i cant get that to work with 5.5 ...

Posted by pnuemo on Nov-15-2002 05:32:

im pretty damn sure that you can NOT use cue sheets with nero... cdrwin or fireburner ONLY!

Posted by El~ZaPo on Nov-15-2002 19:56:

You can use cue files, but you have to specific to look for all files, because it doesn't normally look for .cue files.. but trust me, they work in Nero.

Posted by AussieTrance on Nov-17-2002 13:21:

go to file --> burn image --> all files, then locate the cue file and burn away! enjoy

Argggggg wtf I go to file>burn image>all files>select DJ Dawn que sheet and a pop error comes up sayings "can't open C:\downlods\cues\DJ dawn september 2002.mp3" then after I hit ok another pop up comes up saying "AN error occurred while loading cue sheet (line 3)

Anyone know whats up?

Posted by El~ZaPo on Nov-20-2002 00:14:

Try doing this: open the cue sheet file in notepad, and look for the line of text that says where the mp3 file is. If it points to the right file name and location, then you could try converting the mp3 to wav. Then in the cue file where it says MP3 beside the filename, change that to WAVE and the file extension from .mp3 to .wav (also in the cue sheet). Try it out, and good luck.

Make sure that what you are actually burning is the same on the que sheet. What I mean by that is, the path (and filename) in the cue sheet has to be exactly the same as the file itself...

Posted by eRRaTiK on Dec-10-2002 07:54:

i'm using the latest nero, the path is correct (there is no path, just the name of the .mp3 file i want to burn), selected the .cue sheet i wanted and it froze. tried again, same problem.

might try the wave suggestion but i think .cue files work better with cdrwin?

Posted by vmc on Dec-14-2002 12:42:

use CdrWiN, it's the best for burning using cue files.

Nero works better.

what the heck do I do to get this on a cd in seprate files so I can select each track???

Posted by eRRaTiK on Dec-23-2002 12:38:

1. save that entire list as a .cue file in the SAME directory as the actual mp3 file (probably better if you name it Gemini205.cue to match the filename of the mp3).

2. launch your cd recording software, nero is recommended (or cdrwin).

3. in nero:
quote:
go to file --> burn image --> all files, then locate the cue file and burn away!

* note: you might experience some lag when nero initially tries to load the cue sheet. this is normal. it may look like the application is not responding, but leave it for a few minutes and it should work.

it didn't freeze - it was simply doing a lot of thinking give it a few minutes and simply wait till you can press the record button

Posted by goldenarm79 on Jan-08-2003 20:26:

i have a quick question about the cue files too, when it loads up into nero the(cue file) and then i click on it to tell it to write the cd, nero tells me this strange message: "There is not enough space to burn this compilation onto this medium please insert another medium that provides more space." And i'm using a 700 mb cd-r to burn, and the cue file is only has like 50 minutes of music to burn on it??? What can i do to fix this?

Mine Froze aswell after loading the cue sheet but after i waited a few minutes it came back and then wasnt responding again

Should I use CDRWIN instead of nero? coz they both work with cue files, although nero is taking foreva to respond... cant even press the record button

Posted by RaveR on Jan-09-2003 03:15:

Oh never mind, i got Nero v 5.5.9.9 and it freezes for like 2 mins then it works

Posted by wallflower on Jan-15-2003 03:56:

I tried using Nero v5.5.9.17, but when I go to burn the CD, I get a "Write Error" or "Buffer Underrun" error
Any ideas on what I need to do?

I also tried to install CDRWin, but I can't launch it. The hourglass comes up for a bit, but then disappears, and nothing seems to happen.

Does anyone have any more help for this problem cos its fucking me up too? Does computer speed come into it aswell or nero program version even? Any suggestions appreciated

Some suggestions from TechTV:

quote:
To prevent this error, turn off all background tasks while the CD-R is running. This means all applications, your screen saver, and antivirus software. To make sure you don't get distracted and start to check your email or surf the Web, walk away while the CD is burning.

If the error continues to occur, burn at a slower speed. It can be annoying to wait, but it is more reliable.

Read this for more in-depth explanation of buffer underruns and how to prevent it.

Can someone explain, step by step how to load and burn a cd with a cue sheet in cdrwin 5? Does one still have to edit the cue sheet in notepad? Thanks.

Which software do I use to create a .cue file (ex. notepad, nero etc.) I really dont know... can anyone tell me?

You have to use notepad. If you cant find the cue file when you go to open it with notepad just click on the "files of type" drop down menu and select "all files" .
It should show up then

I had to do a system recovery on my comp, and after that CDRWin worked
Now I still need to figure out why Nero isn't burning any audio CD's
