Tiesto - Thought he played alot better than he has this year

Armin van Buuren - Was class played some mint tunes

Yoji Biomehanika - Owned everyone but took ages to get back in the main room after

Mario Piu - Was absolutly shite mixing was shit and his tune selection was shit thought he was going to be alot better

Jules and Eddie - Only caught the back end because of going to see Yoji but eddies mixing and scratching skill are amazing jules mixing could of been tighter.

Scott Bond & Matt Hardwick - This set was amazing i fucking loved every minute of it i was proper over the moon when they played pearl river as the last tune i was gutted when it finished just after 6 wanted it to go on for a few more hours i reckon i did to many sweeties tho i fucked now reckon i had atleast 7 it was cool to meet some of the UKTA`s there not a bad little turn out

YOJI was mint ! what a set and did u see the guy ?
jumping around and clapping and looking like He was having a really great time too.
Stayed and watched Lisa Lashes after Yoji and she pumped out some good hard shit, left her set after she dropped BK - Revolution to go back to GC arena for tail end of halliwell and Jules and to see Mario Piu, Piu's set was ummmmm different, he mis cued several of the tracks and his track selection was not strong, anyone know what mix he played of Ligaya ?
Hardwick and Bond was superb !!!!!!!
those 2 gel together so well, Gouryella - Ligaya into Player One - Insomnia into Gouryella - Gouryella !
W00T ! and to end Hardwick drops Seven Cities with a couple of encore tracks.

Tiesto played the best set he has done for a year, he had a couple of dodgy transistions but otherwise good.
i belive he dropped his mix of Madonna's Die Another Day which was not bad.
Armin Spot on as always, can't fault the Guy.
I think Judge Jules needs to leave off the scratching, lol, that was an 'oh dear' moment.

As ever it was cool to meet up with U lot again

Ste, the man with the most hugs in the world for everyone, Nita with her random sayings, Jeff with his sheer jeffness, Alan, always a blinding laugh, Spad, hyper for a change lol.
Gibbo, do u ever stop talking ? lol
Ocalla, hard as fuck as always, Dave, Matt, Fly, Mikey Mike good to see u all again
Sam, ur random bollox talking on the way home was a pleasure to listen to even thou i cant remember a word of it
and all the others incl Volksjoolz and ur brother and so many random girls etc, U all made it a great GC NEC !
I got home about 2pm sunday afternoon, lol totally fukkered

Roll on GC Black & White ! !

Push - Superb
Tiesto - Only heard the first half but was the superb
Yoji - Outstanding
Underworld - Absolute fucking quality, why didn't I stay for the second half? Grr!

Jules & Eddie - Only caught the end but wasn't that impressed
Bond & Hardwick - I thought they were wank but I was battered by then so I'll take everybody elses word for it.

Mario Piu - BORING!
Walking out of Tidy trax about 30 seconds before Til Tears Do Us Part

Had a superb night though, was wicked to see everybody again, batteredness was at a maxium towards the end though... apologies for that. And no I don't hate you, I was just gurning (to anybody who was wondering, which was quite a few ).

Posted by decode on Nov-18-2002 10:16:

Fuck me i fucking loved that night. It was amazing. We tried finding u guys but we couldnt see u anywhere. I saw one dude who i recongnised but he dissapeared after i went after him. I bumped into Weezhard, Amazing bloke he even was so kind to share 2 of his drugs with me after 2 of mine got crushed
I thought MIKE was awesome. Alphascan got me proper going & i totally blew my load when tiesto dropped that remix of La Rock. Armin was fucking godlike Piu was a little crap to start off but i thought he got better, I didnt pay attention to his mixing but i love his Tech-Trance style.
Supprisingly i dont feel as fucked as i normally do
Cant wait for B&W

Posted by decode on Nov-18-2002 11:01:

Love Poundin' Sensation

to many freaks and not enough circus's!

was a gr8 nite tho! and i got to see toby!

Posted by Volksjoolz on Nov-18-2002 12:39:

My god that was an awsome night!!

but it only felt like i'd been in there 20 minutes and it ended!! ooh dear!

stoopid moment of the night for me was when i suddenly realised i'd lost my phone..told everyone to look for it, even went up to the back stands where i'd briefly sat down earlier and told everyone to get out of their seat because my phone "should be somewhere nearby" asked this rather attractive girl to try and ring my number..and almost at once i could hear my ring tone!..only problem was that it was quite faint.

well it turned out that it ws in my pocket all along!

oooh dear the messiness was all too much to bear..but full marks go to-

Tiesto
Armin
Yogi
Lisa Lashes
and most of all

SCOTT BOND AND MATT HARDWICK!!

peal river at the end-i was nearly in tears!

Posted by aidanmack on Nov-18-2002 12:59:

Was wicked basically!
Got there for about 10. Any body else que for ages to get in only to have to que from the babooska room to get into the gatecrasher room that then lead to the tidy room??? That was a bit pants I thought! But any way!
Tidy room was spanking!
I luved every minute in their! Yoji what can I say!. could he of played a any better set! Well banging hard trance but like well fast! Tidy boys were awesome! Great to go back to the past un here some right classics! I havent seen lisa lashes since the first global gathering, really really good once again I found her set to be a lot like hardtrance but very bouncy un fast at the same time.
Saw many people being sick though! Un some goin of on stretches harsh deals!
The que to get in to the gatecrasher room was stupid couldnt be arsed with that at all! So a didnt go in to the gatecrasher room until that last two hours. Piu was wicked! That guy makes be laugh though! He looks like a fat dirty Italian that sells kebabs out of a caravan hahahaha. Was a really good set though. There was a tune though with some vocals in it taken from an old 80s tune. Does any one no the name of it??? That was sooo good!
Every one raves on about mat Hardwick un Scot bond back to back umm sorry but it was all a bit to swishy un like emotional trance for me. Wasnt banging enough until that last half hour which was wicked!

Any way spanker of a night thank u very much!

HappyHappy

i think i will copy spad:

Virgin Trains - thankyou for being shit.

Talla - only caught about three of his tracks but he was the mutts nuts, some banging track followed by answer the question and summatelse which was mint.

Mike - looking fwd to seeing this guy again his set was trancey and a few semi hard tracks thrown in. top notch. fundamental 501 - the situation was quality!

Tiesto - hahahaha, played some nice tracks, but boy this guy is a fucking joke! has he ever heard of beatmatching?! none the less a few nice if not old tracks in there. got a photo with him for irony value. he gets let off coz he played cosmic gate remix of urban train last

Armin - he needs to play a few new tracks maybe, although still a quality trancey set, from what i heard stuck outside the arena!

Jules + Halliwell. all in all i enjoyed this set even though msot of the tunage wasnt to trancey or interesting, it sure was dancable. halliwell over did the scratching but jules played drugface - ****master (uberdruck remix)

Piu - ok i actually kina liked his tunes he played, it was a different style to everyoen else whichwas refereshing, although one or two tracks were crap. he was also bad at mixing but not as bad as tiesto, because piu corrects his mistakes

Scott Bond + Hardwick - this was a nice set, although not much compared to their set @ 8th birthday by a loooong way! ashame they were only on for an hour too. pearl river, gouryella and seven cities were nice

other stuff:

andain, did she actually sing. tidytrax, the queues to getin and out were huge, so fucked that idea.

all in all a mint nite, better music wise than the last one easily.

he played good tunes but his mixing was awful, ask anyone there he cant even beatmatch!

you seem to have some sad vendetta against me because you cant accept the fact your favourite dj cant mix for shit. i pity you.

go die

oh yeh if you dont stop flaming me ofr stating the cold hard facts about your little hero, i will ban your sorry arse

Posted by decode on Nov-18-2002 15:02:

I didnt really pay attention to any of the mixing, I never really listen out for mistakes that people make. Unless their shit and i want to pick faults

Go die

please, shut up.

he was better than usual, but his mixing still needs improvement. consistency is a major problem for him, if u had half a brain u would admit that

anyway, back to the reveiws and stuff written by ppl who were actually there.

cast in order of appearance:

Whoever played firat in tidytrax: what a start to the night! twas funny, beforehand we were taking bets on how long it would take for someone to play warrior - if u want me. it took roughly 4 tunes lol. lots of classix and lovely trance.

Talla: WICKED. last couple of times ive seen him hes been a let down, but he's back on form again, yay! he played a really bangin hard warm-up, which sounds like it wouldnt work but it did! really well!

MIKE: WICKED. one dodgy mix (really dodgy) but the rest of it made up for it! he read my mind when he played the 2002 mix of universal nation followed by the original!

Andain live PA: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! how good? yes she was singin live, you could tell this by the minor fuck-up at the start (starting a bit too late) but she sang the rest absolutly beautifully! met her wandering about later on, sound las!

Tiseto: Started off with a shit start (as in put the tune on in a random place) but it was actually a touch of genius starting his set with mark norman - overkill.. mixing was a bit off but tunes were good. stayed in there for about half an hour and left to see...

Underworld: to be honest, even better without darren emmerson! they ripped the place to shreds! ive wanted to see them live for ages but never had the chance coz they always do DJ sets wherever i go.. i now feel a small part of my life is complete!

Jules/Eddie B2B: as ste sed, eddie overdid the scratchin a bit, but it was funny watchin julesy try to scratch as good and failing miserably wasnt really that impressed... eerrgh... opera song..

Mario Piu: dissapointing. his set at GC birthday was fantastic, so i was looking forward to this.. but tbh he was shit. to me it didnt really fit in the night, ah well. i didnt really care anyway coz permafuck had set in by then

Matt/Scott: wicked set when u think about it. mixing was quality! but it wasnt as good as the one they did at GC b'day. probably coz they only had an hour & a bit.. + i dont think that it could ever be reproduced neway... i hope GC keep doing this for a bit because they offset eachother so well!

people:
Everyone that was there who i met! i know i met a few of u new ppl too, wicked to see u all! mikeymike, sorry i didnt really talk to u, didnt know who u were til the very end! next time, come up to me and slap me in the face

it was a good job me and sam wernt in the same car on the way back, coz by the sounds of it we were spewing as much bullshit... i dont know how i got back without being knocked out lol..

anyways, mint wkend! hope 2 see u all at GC on the 30th for mine, ste's & other ppl's birthday party!

OMG how could I forget to mention that! One of the best moments of the night for me, she started singing on completly the wrong beat butgot it back together in time for the best bits Shame the levels weren't done a bit better, could hardly hear her but she sang fucking mintedly (<-- word? it is now!).

And also forgot to shout out to all the TA's I met for the first time. Which is probably more than I can remember. Was good to see everybody again!

Ah well, see you all at B&W!

Posted by DJ_FRAZ on Nov-18-2002 16:00:

right guys i've uploaded all the files that were on my mini digicam from that night. see if you can find the pic i took of Yoji Biomehanika, the quality of that pic is amazing for a 40 quid digital camera!!
theres not many proper decent pics out of the whole lot, but i uploaded them all anyway.

the pics are located here;

http://www.team-matrix.co.uk/djfraz/pics/gcnec/

bang that URL in internet explorer and it should come up with the contents of the folder so u can click on em and take a look.

Oh and theres about 5 or 6 .avi movie files i took aswell

I'll be uploading my other cam pics when i get the film developed, but enjoy those for now.
