Shame / Disagreement how about some awful lyrics !!

there's all these threads about this and that great vocal track, well how about the worst lyrics/vocals you've heard in a trance song?

my vote goes to 'lost tribe - gamemaster', the only track i always had to fastforward on tranceport. cheese at its moldiest...

No man, you're totally wrong, those vocals really add something to the track and it's well said too.

Green Court - Take I dislike

maybe 'cynical' should have been my nick, but i really dont think lyrics such as those in gamemaster belong in a trance track. i personally could do without lyrics all together, but if they have to be there, then why oh why must they be so cheesy ? i mean cmon, 'earth radiates her brilliant beauty into the caverns of space and time' - 'those who own her planet are learning about love...'

to anyone that isn't deeply trancified that is just utter parmesan. we all know trance isn't about lyrics in the way that rock or hiphop are, so why pretend people actually care about the lyrics as opposed to beat and melody.

dont get me wrong, i love a nice sample or subtle vocal addition, such as in the e-werk 'for an angel' because it really adds to the song. but i think in the case of gamemaster it detracts, its too much. its trying to be very important and deep when its just cheese. difference between gamemaster and say, insomnia being that faithless is just talking about not being able to sleep and tearing off tights with his teeth, etc. he isn't preaching about saving the whales. maybe thats it, i just dont like hearing preaching in music... hmm .. message getting way too long

Ahhh someone who shares my view, good tune, shit lyrics IMO. Not the guy spewing random names of cities but the "City to City, Station to Station" etc...

Also i'd have to add anything by Scooter. This isn't just random pop at Scooter because I don't like his music, but it's the vocal content. "Siberia The Place to Be" WTF?

I'd have to go for Klea - Tic Toc. I just can't listen to a tune that says "Your love is sweeter than a lollipop".
The PvD Re-Edit of the Magiz Muzik Mix is great though.

I personally love the spoken vocals in Lost Tribe - Gamemaster. Such a quality tune from the good old days of 1997.

Scooter - Nessaja

(pitched voice) Always lived my life alone,
Been searching for the place called home.
I know that I've been cold as ice,
Ignored the dreams, too many lies.
Somewhere deep inside, Somewhere deep inside me,
I found ... the child I used to be
And I know that it's not too late
Never too late...

Free I am!
The painted cow !
Hiaaaaa!!
You ain't stoppin` us now !
Wonderful human beings
Yeah ! I am the Junglist soldier.

Come On! The rocket launcher stops ya.
It's not a bird, it's not a plane
It must be Dave who`s on the train
Wanna wanna get ya, gonna gonna get ya
Tell em that I told ya
YEAH!

(pitched voice) Always lived my life alone,
Been searching for the place called home.
I know that I've been cold as ice,
Ignored the dreams, too many lies.
Somewhere deep inside,
Somewhere deep inside me,
I found ... the child I used to be
And I know that it's not too late
Never too late...

Allright
Are you ready ? It's not a game.
I chat so much, I turn you insane.
Wanna wanna get ya, gonna gonna get ya
Messing up the area
YEAH!

Come On !
I am the fresh man
Messing up the jam !
Turning up the stereo
Join the caravan

Skippy, the rain won`t come !

(pitched voice) Somewhere deep inside,
Somewhere deep inside me,
I found ... the child I used to be
And I know that it's not too late
Never too late...

Need I say anything more?

also Gamemaster vocals are classic, they fit the track perfectly, I guess they're sampled from a film (not sure)
Mr Mystery, how much is the fish are nearly as bad
and Tic Toc is possibly the worst tune ever

Uptide Tuner - Last Night.....Kaylab made a remix of this track....gayvocals all the way....really bad, you need to check it

I personally don't hate 'ALL' tracks with vox in, There are some excellent vocal tracks out there. Ijust dislike the poppy vocals such as Alice DeeJay *shudders*

Now there's a BAD kaylab remix

Posted by capricorn15 on Nov-19-2002 20:54:

i dont mind lyrics
as long as they are fitting with the song, they dont have to make sense but they need to be fitting
for example

yahel - butterfly, it was a decent tune, until the naration came on, that realyl killed the whole song, anyways,
vocals are alright, as long as its not stupid like that yahel track

I totally agree. I mean... LISTEN to what she's saying it really is retarded. Holy e-tard anthem, Batman... almost makes me cringe just thinking of it.

Both Flutlicht "Icarus" songs are the same way. Dumonde's lyrics are pretty weak as well... Clear Blue Water is bad, as is anything about flying or floating or other garbage. Trance lyrics seem to be trying too hard to be poetic and they end up falling flat on their face.

I really like Tenth Planet - Ghosts as well as the Southern Sun and Silence lyrics though. I also don't mind Tic Toc... It's a fun song with fun lyrics, so they compliment the song well.

Posted by Halcyon21 on Nov-19-2002 22:01:

for my money ive got to go with dj tauchers child of the universe its so cheesy it hurts

Posted by tranceman78 on Nov-19-2002 22:05:

Sun Decade - I'm Alone (MDGV mix). The track itself is nice, but the lyrics just fester in rotten cheeze. The words are typical trance lyrics, ie. cheesy, but the way they're used with that 5 second echo effect puts them into full blown cheesedom.

Posted by Cosmic on Nov-19-2002 22:38:

Maybe a stupid question, but why cheese? Why not 'commercial' or 'gay' or something like that?

I dont mind theres lyrics all that much. Yeah, the song is pure cheese, but the pitched part is sampled from an old song, and the rest,

Its 3AM
The Patron Cow, and
I am the jungelist Soldier

are all refreces to the KLF, which is very cool in my book.

As far as Lost Tribe - Gamemaster. That is one of my favorite tracks ever. I like the dark lyrics, even if they are a bit too introspective.

I'm not a real fan of the lyrics in BT - Blue Skies, I find them kindof aggravating.
