Thoughts on iinet?
Howde everybody.
Well it's official, I'm moving on up into the world of iinet ADSL
Has anybody had any bad experience with them (apart from the plan change). Also, does anybody know if you can use a SpeedStream 3060 PCI Internal ADSL Modem instead of the one they supply? Cause there's no way I'm paying $240 for a modem!
Also, anybody interested in getting $50 off their next bill? If I put your name down you get $50 off.
our house has been connected with iinet ADSL for about a month now - no bad experiences as yet to report, cept for my brother farkin the modem up somehow, but that was fixed for free so its all good
wouldnt know whether u could use that modem tho... maybe email them and ask?

As far as I know, its one of the better ISP's around today.
Ozzie broadband still needs some work though
I Use iinet ADSL as well besides the plan change i have no complaints. Took a while to set up with iinet saying no its telstras problem and then telstra saying its iinets for a week or so, but it was all resolved eventually.
iiNet plan change?... how new is this?..what's changed?
about 2 months old pointy, they stopped the blinktime when downloads were free.
Oh that?...yea i heard about that..blah, its all good...12 gig's a month is still sweet
what about the igreen 'z' plan? no limits... $80/month... anyone know anything else?
iGreen?...is that some kinda environmental internet service where they use tin cans and string?

Yeah Dowlz that's true, but the i-green representative who posts in the Whirlpool forums reckons their bandwidth usage is about 15-20% of capacity, and that they will be doubling their pipe in the next few weeks....

hmm, tried to get iinet here in sydney 'cos we are using waaaaaayy over the 3gb optus limit (like 3g of cable speed, and some 4g of 28.8

)
heheeh, but stupid pgl got installed with a second phone line, so now telstra has f*&%*&d us over and can't get any adsl

grrrrrrrrrr
Tel$tra are fucked
That is all.
I was on the iiNet "256 plus" plan and downgraded to the 128 plan.
I can now download whenever I want, no need to worry about peak and off-peak times.
The stuff comes in slower but I can download much more at $50 ($20 less) per month.
Since 30 days ago I've downloaded 16146.54GB.
The most I've ever downloaded in one 24h day was 918.49MB, that was on 5 December 2002.
I had to get a new 80GB hard disk drive a bit over a week ago, got a Seagate 80GB for $210.
The problem I've been having is that I hardly have enough spare time to listen to the music and watch the movies I've been downloading. I'll have to work it out.
DJ Dowlz, have you signed up yet? My username is mindwarp, mention me if you are going to sign up!

How much are you paying for the modem and what brand & model?
Just get the Billion modem, it's $190 or so, a great bargain and reports are that it works great.
Here's the whirlpool news article:

Also do a search for it in the forums. I think almost all users are happy with it.
I was disappointed to buy the D-Link DSL500 for $390, I could have saved a couple of hundred if I had known of the Billion.
