ID Contest #1

Sorry for the vague title, I'll try to make it a little more clear. I was feeling a bit bored today and decided to create this contest. I took 25 samples of 10 seconds each. Every sample is from a 2002-track. I've tried to include as many subgenres as I could. Your goal is to identify as much tracks as possible and sends your answers to [email protected][/email]. Everyone who wants, can participate, but only once of course.

What can I win?
Nothing, but it gives yourself and us an idea of how good your trance-knowledge is.

How many points can I earn?
Okay, there are 25 samples to identify. You get 1 point for guessing the correct artist, title or remix. So, if it's a remix of a track, you can earn 3 points, otherwise : 2 points. An example : Let's say I included a sample of Junkie XL - Breezer [DJ Tiesto Remix]. Here's a list of possible answers and how many points each answer gets :
- junkie xl - ?? -> 1 point
- ?? - breezer (dj tiesto remix) -> 2 points
- junkie xl - beauty never fades (dj tiesto remix) -> 2 points
- junkie xl - breezer (dj tiesto remix) -> 3 points!

In case of an Original Mix or a Radio Edit, you don't have to mention it, there won't be extra points then. I won't tell how many remixes there are, but I can tell you there are more than 60 points to earn.

When do we get the results?
On Christmas
I'll post them here and send them to everyone. So, you have till 24 december to send in your results.

This isn't exactly cheatproof, is it?
Correct, if you got a better idea, tell me or organise your own contest after this one. All I can do is hope everyone plays it fair and keeps it nice for the others.

I realize that I haven't payed to much attention to the scene this year. I only manage about half of the tunes on my first listen.

woh i suck. i ve only heard i think 8 of those tracks. can ID 6 off the top of my head i know what sets the others were in.
looks like i wont be anywhere near winning. oh well gives me an excuse to download more music

EDIT i spose it depends on what label you bought it on though

direction was 2002

well you're right, i searched and there was a release (the first i think) on 30-12-2001

Can any of you mods please make this thread a sticky until Christmas (when the contest is over)??

A lot of the people who download the samples and participate don't post here, so the thread slowly "drowns" before the contest is finished
