Digweed and others dissed in mixmag?
Hey did anyone read the article about the middle aged DJs being completely torn apart in the recent edition of mixmag? I didn't have access to the magazine for long enough to see whether this article was a joke or not (I'm thinking it wasn't and was just plain insane/ridiculous) but yeah what did you think about this?
I think maybe the point if any was that all the DJs who ask for huge fees to mix sets may not be as amazing as we think and are certainly not irreplacable, there is enough talent waiting to break through who could do the same job for less money, and if ur a club owner, in the end u'll go for the cheapest quote, I find the styles of digweed tong etc mindnumbingly boring and a lot of others do too, and i think its pushing the point across that maybe new blood is needed
I wholeheartedly agree that these old farts should fucking retire with their mind-numbing boring prog house. Digweed & others are overhyped and overrated. Nobody is irreplaceable and indeed, there are a LOT of talented unknown DJ's with better tastes and skills.
then again...mixmag has always been very opinionated about issues. They declared that Prodigy was a worthless band....then liam got mad and released fat of the land. I personally think diggers and co. don't care because they are still in high demand and making lots of coin.

Wouldnt it be nice if we could all get our heads out of our asses and respect other peoples musical prefrences? As far as the article goes, while I didnt read it, if someones willing to pay you big bucks to spin, than not asking for it is just stupid.

everyones got a different opinion...magz are no different...the writers know they have a big audience so they write what they feel...dont get pushed into believing wha they say all the time...sometimes they just havin a shiet day and write an angry article
...point is...there are alot of DJs who do shiet jobs and want loads of money...and then there are those that do great jobs and dont get paid...
i personnally never care much for articles like that...fuck the politics of it...jus enjoy the musak...
