Pages (2): [1] 2 »
What was the year you started to listening to Trance ? , I started in 94 but wasent a full Tranceaddict until 96 . So how about you ? .
first time....:)
I found this mixed techno tape back in 93 and couldn't stop listening to some of the beats/buildups...since then i tried to find similar music but it wasn't until i heard Children in late 96/ early 97 that i wanted more.....then in 99 i found some trance stuff and slowly got into it by 2000....2001 nothing BUT trance!!!!!!
>JM<
in 1994 , i was only 11 years old when i discovered Moby's Feeling so real , since that time , i'm addicted to trance/techno/rave ...
funny
first trance cd was, robert miles - dreamland, (Which my mom bought in like 1997), i think i got addicted at the end of the school year in 1998 (may-june) and have been ever since =)
I used to like dance music since i was like 10... but once i went to my first after hours club (year and ahalf ago) thats when i started to like that stuff!
nice name Some One
i started @ about 95. became a full TA i guess around...97-98ish.
i started back in my car audio competition days...
lets see... that was back in about 96-97 i think.
i always used techno and shit for my sound offs
I got started in 2000....
I was hooked by February 2001.
I guess you can say I'm a newbie :P
started off with Children in '96 (?) but then i didn't like techno/trance at that time... i was a full rock fan with Something for Kate, NiN, RATM etc. then '99 i started downloading nothing but techno/trance and a quarter of the way through 2000 i LOVED IT!!.. dropped all rock and rap mp3s and just got trance trance and more trance!!!!! also discovered this site in September 2000 and have never looked back =)
I guess i became a tranceaddict around 99... It was the time when p2p programs didn't excist, so i had to use ftps with ratio and all that shit... it was a real hard time getting what i wanted..
Before that time i listened to other dance music, after hearing children and fable, but it wasn't until i heard Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone (Signum Remix) and Lovechild - Liberta (Moonman Mix) that is got addicted for ful to the trance genre...
I don't know why but a lot of people here got addicted to trance thanks to Robert Miles - Childre ...
I have a pretty easy answer to that - Robert Miles - Children was heard everywhere. It's like Sandstorm today, it got a lot of people hooked on this kind of music. If you heard any form of trance, chances were, you heard Children.
I hope that in a year or two, we'll have a huge influx of "mainstream dance music-turned-trance" fans who got into it by listening to the huge club hits that are being played today. Too many to list, but you know what I'm talking about.
After all, we didn't all like trance from the beginning.. You have to start somehow, and if massive club hits by Fragma, Alice Deejay, ATC and Darude can help, more power to them. I remember reading a post in an older thread about "people not being able to jump in directly into Paul Van Dyk or Tiesto.. you have to start out slowly, get into more mainstream things like Planet Perfecto, and so on. Then you graduate to real trance."
I have to say that I agree with that.
I agree with you too ...
hmmmm that drags my memory back several years. There used to be some dance stuff one night a week on this radio station that i would tune into religiously for about year or so but then so forgot about it.
I only really got into trance in about 99 after listening to my sister's trancemaster (dunno which one it even was)
Visions Of Shiva "Perfect Day" and Airscape "Cruising" in 1993 got me started when I was just 12!
hmmmmi would say 95-96?
i guess
I started listening to club music i 95' but none of the mainstream then was trance so it wasnt until late 98' that i realised how good it was. Spring 99 i bought Pete Tong's Essential Selection and with tracks like Quake - Mantra and System F - Out of the Blue how could i resist the power that trance posseses
System F - Out of the Blue
Ayla - Ayla
Robert Miles - Children
heard these tunes in 99 and was hooked on trance since then.
I think it was late 1998 when I finally got my first computer and started using Napster. I found some Antiloop and liked it, then I found some early DJ Tiesto stuff and have been hooked since.
Well...i being from MN, i had never had much exposure to trance...i liked rock. then i met a couple of guys, from czech republic and germany, and they freed my mind...that must have been 2 years ago. Now i am hopelessly hooked.
Being from the USA like the post previous, we don't get much trance around here. Before I was hooked I was into rock then hip hop. Then I heard a track off Tranceport 1, and that kicked it off, ever since 1999.
i first listened to trance when a friend of mine played atb-till i come for me..i didn't like it at first but then in a month i started downloading atb and ayla and then it just started.
Yeah I think 98/99 were great for trance... It's still going strong now, but those were my favourite because that's when I really became addicted to this music...
And I gotta say this site has kept it alive for me.. I mean u dunno how much I learn from u peez, all of you bring diverse tastes and knowledge, and Swamper cuz I never seen vedios to those great tunez or heard the livesets done in other countries by djs I don't have a chance to see...
latez...
back in like 9th-10th grade (98-99) all i listened to was metallica and tool... but then i started watching 120 mins on mtv (wow something good on mtv?!
) and i saw some electronica stuff, namely moby's bodyrock... that summer i became addicted to chem bros and moby (i still consider moby-play one of the best cd's ive EVER bought)... and then in 11th grade (99) i started downloading trance off ftp's like a maniac (well for the time haha)... every since, i work on increasing my already huge collection of trance... im so glad i found it.. because it has had a very positive effect on my life ever since
