Why is hard trance so shit?

To me it's a simple form of electronic music. Most fo it sounds like it was made on fruity loops. The producers are just that and nothing more and should stick to that instead of inflicting the airwaves with shit mixing. 100& cheese hard trance is.

The problem may be that you don't actually know many 'true' hard trance artists, it seems to me that a lot of soft as shit stuff is being labelled as hard & it's wrong, look for Kai Tracid, Uberdruck, Technoboy, Yoji etc for decent hard trance, it's the same as every genre, theres always good & bad stuff, but to generalise it is stupid

I don't know what hardtrance tunes you know, but there are definately good hardtrance tracks. Some examples:

Altitude- Altitude (Shokk remix)
DJ Scot Project - Overdrive
Hennes & Cold - Second trip (Scot Project remix)

Dave Joy - First Impression (Shokk Mix).

Dumonde and Jam-X are decent hard trance... but the rest of the stuff just shits me to tears, with its overdrawn basslines and having all thier synth melody's sounding the same... just arranged in different patterns... and sometimes filtered differently... hard trance has its time and place... though not with me... it's good dancing music... technically.. its nothing special.. IMO

yes i agree.... but normal trance is just the same.... ok i take it you havnt delved into hard trance much, because you will find that there are different types and approaches to hard trance, just as there are for normal trance, or epic trance.... same old vocals.... same old floaty riffs..... but i bet you could tell me completely different, because it is the music that you focus all your attention to, just as i focus all my attention to HARD trance (not s.h.o.k.k and scot project) and hardstyle, and acid trance.

but i agree with what your saying in one respect

Well youre probably listening to it on ure computer and ure thinking this is so simple. Hard trance and techno is made for more of a live capacity. Try it in a live place ull realize those banging beats on a good speaker system will kill you sire, kill you immediately.

your point on fruity, flutlich/shokk do use fruity, along with cosmicman, (parker) robstar on these boards, lightworks, and elude (me). would hardly say any hardtrance has a fruity sound at all...

you obviously have very little knowledge on the topic and perhaps you should properly formulate your hypothesis and gain enough background to at least hold your own in this argument and not blatantly go off topic, if i was you i would delete this thread before you lose all your repuation if you even had one

To a point i agree with you. However i listen to techno @ home and it kills me everytime. hard trance is good dancing music like ppl have said, but it fails to do it for me even as that.

ok take scot project for instance. How many of his remix's and productions sound different to overdrive? the same blips and beeps rehashed over and over again.

Cosmic gate the same thing over and over again. and if i remember correctly in a partyservice set they played their own productions something like 8 out of the 12 songs no thats takin the piss

now i dont remember saying i "hated" it any where. I am just voicing my opinion. I have different tastes like everyone else but i dont like hard trance.

what the fuck has fruity got to do with this, if im not mistaken, robstar got his tune properly released, a tune he created on fruity and as nukleuz said theres a lot of people using fruity and coming up with some great sounds. and as for the hard trance being shit thing, im not even going to start arguing with you on that, that ranks with some of the most narrow minded comments ive read on these boards.

infact - have you ever heard a flutlicht or a s.h.o.k.k track (just my favourite two producers as examples for arguments sake) - their tracks are brilliantly layered, climactic and excellently set out. different from anything ive heard before - so how can they sound the same as every other hard trance tune?
