trance energy 2003 disaster?

between tomcraft's 5 year old set plus fading lousy mixing
johans horrible quailty of records
and Mccosmic gate quarter pounder and cheese, i say this seals the deal for the death of trance energy.

I feel so much more intelligent when i .listen to armins a state of trance from last thursday.

Thank you ID&T for making me realize how much an big event can suck.
I also give a hand to Joop, which gave the only half-way decent set.

They just keep getting worse...

Worst Trance Energy yet They should have charged half-price for the tickets since barely any of the DJs had new material.

Cheese Energy (downhill after 2000)
Shitsation (downhill after 2000 too)
Innershitty (downhill after 2000 as well)

conclusion: ID&T events can blow me after the year 2000

many greetings,

f0x

TE was dissapointing this year for me.

We had more space to dance , but Gielen sucked ass. He needs to update his recordbag....same accapella's for 2 years now

The MC fucked all the sets at the Hardstage,
Music Volume was good than crap than good,

hardly no trance was played

hahahah very well said man.

trance energy is not about trance anymore. what a shame. this was one of my favorite events back in the day (2000 - early 2001) when it was still quality.

i didn't even listen to it, and i can imagine how bad it was. Johan in need of some new material? what else is new?? lol, guess he's been forgeting to tune in to ASOT lately and write down the songs that Armin has been spinning the past few months

Posted by DjDeComp on Feb-16-2003 06:42:

This was disappointing

Trance Energy is fucked for life.

next year it will be as big is thsi year.. only the name of the event will be different

HARDSTYLE energy

I had 2 work at TE this year.. had time of from 1:30 till 4:30, then had to go back to the cloakroom.

Had some time 2 party.. and so i did!! Joop had the best track slection.. but mixing skill were not that great. I met him by accidence, after his gig and talked a bit, he's a very nice guy!!!

overall i can say.. it was a better edition in my eyes then last year...

Posted by mastercongo on Feb-16-2003 10:54:

bah joop played mostly old tunes also

Posted by CygnusX on Feb-16-2003 10:59:

After reading this, I thank god I didn't go

?

ok guys first of all i do not agree with al your "bad" comments because some of you only listened too the radio. Ok i agree with the fact that some of the djs such as gielen had old numbers but there was a fucking great atmosphere i really liked,it was a good night out and kai tracid just rocks,he was climbing his turntable when there was a remix of warmdushers hardcore will never die. that guy can interact with the audiance. and then there was the overall lighting etc,it was great not very special but it gave a good atmosphere.

so its about the party it self, if you only listen to the music on a radio station then you can better listen to a every week radio show such as ASTOT (thats always good) but if you are at Trance energy in real life then its very cool to hear zombie nation or other old tunes such as fire wire and you realise that the crowd goes wild, its just pure energy. some of your guys are only looking at mixing skills or trackselection but not at the overall event.if the mixing is not that good or some tracks are old then the event can still be very entertaining.

you damn critics it just about the fun, i will make a bed that a bunch of your guys will like it if you were there.

thats my point of view

(sorry about the bad english by the way)

I think Innersh, uh, I mean Innercity still has a chance. But the other two have definitely bit the dust.

Posted by magrec on Feb-16-2003 11:34:

Lol that's why most of the dutch ta's didn't go to TE.

Posted by MaGiK54 on Feb-16-2003 12:59:

Just like many dutch TA'ers said the last few days, Trance Energy is the worst party in Holland.

yeah, i think you have a point there, but still all the people that are going there expects to hear what they haven't heard before, the djs should give them a "new experience" for the money. If they knew what was coming they could stay at home listening to old sets with the same djs instead...

SUCKS BIG TIME

no DuMonde, no Rank 1...that sucks big time!

The next trance energy in september needs to be BETTER.

i dont think the 2001 ones were bad. and i enjoyed the early january 2002 one. just the last 2 that hav been crap, and most of use are going by what we heard on the radio. Broadcasting such DJs as Tomcraft and Joop etc. dont give a fair representation of the whole event theres more to life than mp3s

Posted by Dark Apostle on Feb-16-2003 15:26:

I went to TE and imo it was very good
Except Tomcraft who didn't even bother to mix, at least so it seemed to me and of Joop's set I only heard the very beginning which was crap and a part of the end which was rather good. I have no clue of what was played in between as I was enjoying the beats that Kai Tracid was spinning
Kor Fijneman started (very) weak with a mix of madonna's last release and some other tiny tunes (he was spinning in the hard stage )but in the second part he played some damn fine hard tracks
And although it is very popular to keep saying how hard Johan Gielen sucks over and over and over again I thought his set, at least the first part was very good.
The female audience was also very fine

word mate!!!
you cant jugde such a big event by sitting in front of your computer and listening to a losy 48 kb/s stream and say "wow he cant beatmatch"...
i think you need to go to te and than u can jugde!

Posted by whiskers on Feb-16-2003 15:50:

wow, can't believe i missed it, damn fruity loops

well, see what i've been trying to say with all my "trance is getting commercialized" posts? now we "lost" trance energy, innercity, and sensation (although i can't really judge for myself). i guess my only question is 'WHY?' what made the djs be as horrible as you describe?

trance for tranceaddicts

Posted by DJ-Ande on Feb-16-2003 16:09:

Dancing Dude

i was so looking forward to tomcrafts off the edde raged tech electo shit but he played a load of bollocks instead
