(May 19th at midnight the party was brought to a halt in spectacular fashion as police surrounded the club and sending revellers inside into a panic. Early reports say that Gatecrasher was shut for drug-related reasons, however this is yet to be confirmed.

Witnesses say that people where being searched on there way out of the club, leaving behind anything that may have may have incriminated them with the waiting officers. This is a huge blow to the northern superclub with the Summer festival season about to kick-off and with Gatecrasher Summer Sound System just around the corner. What happens next is of course still unknown but what we do know is that this was allegedly a planned raid by the police.

wtf? Global conspiracy? First Twilo now Gatecrasher.

THis is sad !!! not long ago I went to the GC site and saw them asking clubbers for helpt for TWILO.. now they've gotten on the same hole !!! WTF !!!! the LION cant be getting hit like that...

yeah that's what i figured too. crasha wouldn't let sometihng like that hold them back. they have a crowd to plz.

From what i hear, gatecrasher reopened on sunday @ 4:30 am. Plus, there is speculation that Twilo will reopen this coming weekend.

damn... they're hitting everywhere in sheffield at the moment. Howards's bar lost it's license last week (you probably haven't heard of that) and there's romours that they'll be raiding insomniacz next..

yeah the churches all over the world are being raped of their rights to play trance on a saturday/sunday... Home, Twilo, Crasher & Howard... Cream will be next in line... this has really fucked me off. i think they targeted the republic to make an example of how the superclubs arnt untouchable... fuckin arse.. must have been a pointless search though, they found 900 odd pills, and i reckon that would account for 1.5 (if not 1) pills per person that drops, and i know a lot of people do more than that! + i know someone who used to 'run' in gatecrasher and he used to flog 400 in a night... so unsuccessful isnt the word!!

i cant see them being closed forever cuz its just too big an organisation for it.. but the question of whether they will be too careful on the door when they re-open... grrrrr.

and fuck me i dindnt think it was that big a deal to the general populace.. it only made local news here, how the fuck did u hear that over in america?

yes it is true... as i sed in my post

im confused now.. i been talkin to a couple of people who went to the republic last night for their 'recess' night... surely they cant raid a club and only stop one of the nights???

Junior has his own booth. No one can spin in there except for him. He's diva.

It's hard to get into on Twilo Saturdays if your not 21. They are strict w/fake ids. Fridays is 18 & over. Saturday used to be gay night now its more mixed cause ppl go for the opening DJ ie: Mauro Picotto, Danny Howells, Anthony Pappa. At 6 am Junior comes..there are a lot of Gay guys but there are still a lot of girls. Junior's afterhours is 1 of the hottest parties in the city. It goes till 5 pm.

Junior Vasquez is a legend. He's been DJing for over 25 yrs. He played at the original Sound Factory.
