The end of Lightning Records...

THE END OF LIGHTNING... Lightning Records will be closed as of tomorrow, no holidays, unfortunately...(check your mailbox daily for new updates)!

PS: It is the end of THE vinyl company in Belgium :-(

he quoted that from http://www.lightningrecords.be/hot_...tent.asp?ID=245
so i guess its for real

as bonzai is a subdivision of lightning, will it be gone too?
i can't believe a label with such quality is closing, its been around for so long, it probably is THE best label

Posted by Sand Leaper on Mar-04-2003 19:08:

So this time around the rumours are indeed true.Sad indeed. It'll be exciting to see what MIKE,L-Vee,DJ Fire and the rest of the Bonzai posse will do now, tho.

Posted by TeKnoHe@d2025 on Mar-04-2003 19:12:

They were home to The Green Martian (L-Vee) and Fire & Ice correct? Plus many more...

Posted by skip on Mar-04-2003 19:32:

this is a sad day indeed! the label has released so many great tunes! but this is what will happen if you manage the label badly!

Sorry, maar dat doet me denken aan Lambik...

It's a shame though. Anyone knows what will happen with the upcoming releases? They had the new Push, Plastic Boy, Lolo etc. already on the sampler...

Posted by Mister_Michel on Mar-04-2003 20:46:

I wonder, what will be the consequences for Belgium?

The less known songs won't be there?
Prices go up?

Posted by Ian on Mar-04-2003 21:03:

RIP

Maybe this is why L-Vee is so anti-mp3, it's hitting them where it hurts (no, not 'there')

Gonna be sorely missed, is this the end of a legend

This is the saddest day in Belgium history, seriously I'm shocked.
Belgium's proud and one of the biggest labels in the world is no more.
Damn this is hard.
The whole bonzai label, green martian, everything just gone??
I can't believe it, I'm shocked. damn
