I just realized clubs are gonna be smoke free after this month... I can't imagine how it'll be but I'm very excited...

maybe the fresh air will keep me dancing longer... or living longer...

I'm not a smoker but I like having a cigarette here and there, especially at clubs/bars (can NOT drink without a cigarette, go figure ).. I hate the smell coming out of the club, especially my hair since it's long.. But I dunno, I like having the OPTION to smoke if I wanted to.. But I understand why it's needed, so I guess we'll see how it is.. I've just never been to a club that's smoke-free so maybe I'll like it..

i really do not like this ban at all. yeah i hate smelling like cigarettes so much when i get out of a club, but i do like to smoke when i go out, i am not an avid smoker but i do enjoy it at times.
on average i smoke 1-2 cigarettes a day. but when i go out i smoke more. i hate this not being able to smoke while drinking, they go hand in hand. nassau county already has it in effect and suffolk county it does not take effect for a few years.
i hate it.

Hopfully this won't be for the worse - Don't get me wrong, I hate bumping into people on the dance floor with butts, and getting burned - it sucks. But I mean what if a lot less people will go to Clubs because of this? Because a lot of people just go to drink, and if since most peopole kinda "have to" smoke when they drink they probably will stop going since they can't smoke butts. Hopfully this won't happen, and there won't be a lot of low turn-out's all the time, and hopfully clubs won't forced to close or even not be able to book the international DJ's since they aren't making enough money

Has anyone else thought of this yet? What do you think?

i agree freeza. This may be a reason for people to look for other places to go, where they can smoke. Imho this is taking the 'war on cigarettes' too far.
but hey, it's the 'land of the free', right? You are free to not smoke..

hmmmmm......well, if the whole city has a no-smoking ban on it, where will anyone else go? I doubt that people would rather sit home and smoke than go smoke-free to a club. It's a tough call. I usually smoke at clubs myself but, if i can't, it won't affect my party schedule. a lot of people bitch about Arc not serving alochol (myself included) yet they/i still go all the time. Of course, this is just me.

Personally, I respect people's wish for clean air, etc. But I DO think there should be an enclosed area/room still available in clubs and whatnot so people can smoke. my reason for this is that I know some real heavy smokers who are total ASSHOLES if they can't have a cig.

Oh yea! I didn't even think of that....Like what the DJ's and performers will think of this...I hope that some won't refuse to play since they can't smoke butts haha
