GUVERNMENT
Mark Oliver www.markoliver.ca (10p-close)

KOOL HAUS
BT BT's Laptop Symphony - A Live Digital Remix Set (12:30a-2a)
Ferry Corsten (4a-close)

For one, I wish Addy were on later, but that's just because I'm used to him at the Zone.

Man, that's fucked up... where the hell is Bill Hamel in that list?

First they take Luke Fair off the list (yeah, he's gotta spin somewhere in South America, ok, I understand that), now Bill Hamel is off, and Addy is playing the first 2 hours? That's fucken ridiculous!

Posted by mute79 on Mar-06-2003 19:16:

ferry is closing out the night?

that will be "fun"

Posted by dartrance on Mar-06-2003 19:23:

what else do you expect??

it makes complete senese to have bt start it up then holden then ferry

you guys complain too much

Posted by Endlesswave on Mar-06-2003 19:26:

To the guy who mentioned above me that we tend to bitch a lot (and Jon as well). YES WE DO. We should shut the hell up and just either go or not go. To go to the party and then complain about how it wasn't what we expected and how we just KNEW it would've been like that. is total BS. If you think is "always" going to be like that then DO NOT GO.I think the set times are spot on and just like I predicted. Except for Bill Hamel (I've heard good stuff about him off here and it would've been good to hear some pumping prog. Ah wellz...) As for Ferry closing out the night? Good. Can't have it any other way. If you start off with that type of trance RIGHT into the night it just sounds way way too weird. It has to build up (the night overall). Start off with some chill type/dancable stuff then get more energy as the night progresses until you hit Ferry's style which is full of energy.

Couldn't have said it better Ewave...I don't think a lot of people realize how good we have it here! Most cities in North America would be LUCKY to see just one of these DJs in a month let alone all of them in one night! Credit to Toronto promoters and clubs for really keeping the international talent flowing in. Figure we're also one of the few cities to have a complex like Guvt/KH that can support events like this and others that we're treated to during the year.

Shit how many clubs/events elsewhere get the damn set times up two days before the event so people can plan the night out. Although I think everyone's plan should be to get there early cuz its gonna be nuts!!

It would have been silly to have Ferry anywhere else on the list other than closing. Figure all those who don't like his stuff can just jet out early anyways. For us that are there for him, hell we get a nice melodic, uplifting set to end the night. Perfect end to a perfect night!

^^^ I'm not bitching that they're here, I'm bitching about the lineup... I don't think it will work out and it will ruin the night... I'd rather boogie to progressive from like 3am and on then have uplifting hit me at 4 am...

You're missing the point. I'm saying STOP bitching period. Be glad you're boggying at ALL. If it will ruin the night WHY are you going? Don't waste your money then. As for boogying to prog from 3am and on and uplifitng at 4am isn't that what the set times are showing? Holden on until 4am and then after it's Ferry until close, what IS there to bitch at? No offence, can't just understand why people are complaining when there is a party on the weekend.

Posted by LKD on Mar-06-2003 21:09:

Hmm, you seem to be getting it...

And I think I will be leaving around 4am too.

i'd pay to hear holden play anywhere, i'm going to see him, not ferry/bt...

as for the second comment, let me rephrase my original post:

Still. You are bitching and that's the point. You KNOW there is going to be trance so why bother because if you're going to bitch why even go? Plus, listening to one style of music is just bleh...(even if it IS full on Ferry style trance). VARIETY is where it's at! I love everything mixed up. (that's how it was at labour of love and EVERYONE had a good time, just look at the thread earlier about Scott Bond's Fav club in Italy that drops everything! That way everyone has a good time). It's fine that you want to listen to Holden and Addy but why complain about the other talent? There's no need.

Posted by mute79 on Mar-06-2003 22:06:

^^^ dude, are you even reading my posts? I have no issues with listening to trance, my beef is with the rotation they've set up for that night...

Posted by jon jon on Mar-06-2003 22:15:

Trancegeek, all you do is bitch, bitch, bitch.

Nice one Chris!

Posted by mute79 on Mar-06-2003 22:24:

haha, this coming from a guy that invented bitching...

Posted by Endlesswave on Mar-06-2003 22:28:

Meh, we all bitch. Me most of all. Just not about music. That's why I stopped posting about it.

Worm Popper

Yet another thread ruined...

...but this time it's my thread, dammit!

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Mar-06-2003 23:11:

Yeah, it's true...all you guys do is bitch.

I'm glad Ferry is on last because my greyhound back to London doesn't leave until 8am. So hopefully, Ferry will stay on past 6am and I won't be sitting in that fucking terminal on Bay Street for 2 hours with my whacked out friend like for Tiesto in December. God, that was such a boring 2 and a half hours.

Anyway....who is this Addy guy anyway? I guess I'll get in line around 10 so that I'll get in before 11:30....just in time for the three main attractions. Bah to Addy..never even heard of him.

Posted by LKD on Mar-06-2003 23:15:

meh..shutup women...

Posted by Muff2K on Mar-06-2003 23:26:

I know what you mean man. I'm not a huge fan of Addy's style. I don't know what it is. Just not my thing. He spins house I think. Some prog? When I saw him @ Guv on a Reg night, didn't really do much for me (much like Sharam of Deepdish when he was @ Guv for Victoria Day last year, Timo was MUCH better IMO). Prog can be VERY good, same with house. Just has to be done by someone I like. I saw Sander K, WOW, I love his style. I also saw Sasha who is obviously very good, ummm also Danny HOwells was good, Dave Seaman who dropped a bit of everything.

Worm Popper

Well, the crowd at the Zone doesn't stop moving when he's on the decks, but that could be for other reasons...

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Mar-07-2003 01:52:

Fantom...I take it you didn't like my comment? If you disagree, then maybe you should say why he's good. Sorry, but I've never heard of him. Plus I don't want Ferry's set to sound like world war 2 from being in there so long! I guess it's ear plugs again until BT!

EndlessWave: Thanks man....so Addy is housey? Progressive house or funky style? I really don't know....too bad Luke Fair couldn't come...he's cool. I don't understand how they could book him and then "unbook" him like that...what was the reason he's not coming?

My comment was towards that ignorance I felt in your post... "Bah to Addy.. never even heard of him" --> It sounded like you meant he sucked/wasn't worth the time just because you've never heard of him. First listen to him spin (at the Comfort Zone, preferrably, but KoolHaus will do), and then post your opinion... And why is he good? Because he spins some of the most wicked tribal house in the city!

And Luke Fair couldn't make it because he is booked somewhere in South America or something (it was mentioned before)...
