Sadam said somthing like " we are prepaered to fight the US anywhere and will go down fighting" Does this mean that theres gona be 1000 terrorist attacks on US soil?
the term terrorism seem to have blurred a little since 911....

so does Bush
I think that this ultimatum really did reveal what this war is all about : it's not about weapons of mass destruction (otherwise they could have used Blix's 12 key disarmement tasks to give Iraq one final chance to disarm) it's just that they've wanted Saddam out of Iraq since the Gulf War and this whole Sept 11 / paranoia about terrorism finally gave them the opportunity to do it.
I'm also liking the Iraqi response to the ultimatum:
quote:
Sabri said Bush, not Saddam, should be the one to yield power. "He should go away from the presidency and let the Americans lead an ordinary life with other nations, not a life of aggression, a policy of aggression against other nations," Sabri said. "This policy has brought about disasters to the U.S. So for the U.S. to live properly with the world and for the world nations to live in peace, this crazy man should go."
Well, George Bush finally gets to make daddy proud. You better fucking do this the right way you jackass, cause your cheap reputation is on the line.
OMG! have u seen the guyz history??? There isnt a reputation to uphold man. Hes a massive screw up.

Originally posted by Renegade As tragic as it was, Tiesto14 (believe me when I say that I was close to tears when I saw it) September 11th was an isolated case that had absolutely nothing to with Iraq. The US had been looking for an excuse to go in and oust Saddam for a long time, and it was the paranoia following the Sept 11th attacks (whether this paranoia was justified or not) that finally gave them an excuse they could sell to the American public. Besides, having seen the horrors of warfare for yourself, I should think that you'd be more sypathetic to the innocent civilians of Baghdad who are about to go through the same thing - only in Baghdad the war will go on for much longer, will cause much more destruction and will result in possibly one-hundred times more death. Do you not think that this is a situation at least as tragic as the events of 18 months ago?
