HappyHappy Dancing To Trance ..

Gotta admit that although ive been a tranceaddict for over 4yrs, ive yet to dance to it .. and I feel the time will one day come that ill go to a (trance) club and will really want to dance but wont due to embaressment .. lack on knowing how to .. being shy etc etc .. u know the idea im sure ..

Sooo .. was hoping that some of u veteran dancers here could help me out with any links or even better vids of any good dance steps/tips .. anything .. heard some talk of cyber dancing and liquid popping? Oh and something a little technical over conventional "bouncing/jumping" would be good (and no glow stick stuff thx)

Thx

Thx for the offer RedLunatik .. but the sort of dancing im hoping to experience/learn a little of aint the glowstick/glowstring type .. more like the dance floor in a club playing (hopefully) electronic music ..

However I gotta say that glowstringing looks pretty impressive when done properly and wouldnt mind learning it .. if it aint too hard or complex .. might be hard practicing it tho lol

Vid of ppl 'dancing'
Check that. just move/jump to the beat .

Posted by mmilo on Mar-22-2003 20:54:

hmMmm in my opinion, u don't need to 'learn' how to dance..
just move to the beat, move how u feel ..
doesn't matter what anyone else thinks/cares ..
if they make an impression on u ... they obviously don't care that much about the musik .. or at least as much as u.

here's how to learn to dance:

1) get money
2) buy ticket to Melbourne
3) go out
4) find some of the many good dancers
5) watch em

here's not how to learn to dance:
- learn from people that do the american fuckwit dance where you jump around like someone with barefeet on hot ashes and wave your arms as stupidly as you possibly can (is it called stomping?)

Seriously if I find a video of it, I'll post it here, you'll fucking cack yourself laughing mate. There is no way in hell that is expressing yourself to the music.. it's *the* dance to do here, stupid ****s.

dear lord.....haven't danced to trance music yet? you must have a lot of *dancing desires* just bursting to get out!

.....i bet i could outdance at least 90% of the kids on this forum, dancing to trance/house

hehehe

but I AM doing other stuff besides that, trying out different steps in terms of how I move my legs/how I dance to certain beats etc.

Good vid. But I just can't think of that tune that's being played. Do you know the name of it? I know it's in one of Oaky's mixes.

Posted by Endlesswave on Mar-23-2003 03:17:

It's Joof's mix of "Cafe Del Mar".

If you *seriously* want to learn how to dance (like 'technically') to electronic or other styles of music with a *edit* consistant or predictable */edit* beat. You should go to www.reflective.net and start browsing the boards. Lots of helpful information on their for beginners and such, and also a lot of recordings of top notch dancers. It's really a practice and *DEDICATION* thing. You're going to suck at first, everyone does, but if your dedicated enough who knows :-?

I thought I wanted to learn how to dance once upon a time (read a year and a half ago) but the truth is practice is hard fucking work. 6 months later i abandoned with what skills i had acquired (a few)... its a fun form of self expression FFS though...

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

always dance to trance

Posted by bassaholix on Mar-23-2003 06:26:

Do a little dance.. make a little love... get down tonight.. LMFAO

I'd say just let the music guide you and just do what feels alright.. and what other ppl might be doing.. smile mostly since that shows ur having fun.. nothing like dancing with an expressionless face.. lol

as you will find out shortly LPC (Liquid Pop Collective) are like the founders of a coalition to define liquid (which is how a significant portion of people dance to electronic music). Pretty crazy shit they do!!! Every once in awhile they show up to parties on the west coast...
