Ughh... Frank Francisco. What the fuck is wrong with some people? Dude threw a chair into the stands during a scuffle between some players and some fans. Chair wound up hitting some lady in her face and breaking her nose. This guy should be suspended for all of next year, IMO.

he got arrested and charged with aggravated battery now its up to the league to see how long hes gonna be suspended for. that was one of the stupidest things ive seen a player. i agree he should pay for what he did and get suspended for next season. what was he thinking?

He got out real lightly with only being suspended for the remainder of the season. (16 games total!!) And he has the audacity to appeal the suspension!

Well, they ALWAYS appeal the suspension. It allows them to play a little longer. But the suspension is absurd. I mean... Albert Belle got 10 days for corking his bat. Pete Rose got something like 20 days for shoving a referee. And Francisco gets 16 for throwing a chair into the stands filled with fans? That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard.

Francisco is actually serving his suspension while appealing the decision. Even though appealing the suspension is part of standard operating procedure, just hearing of the idea of appealing a punishment so light for a crime so hideous drives me nuts.

Despite this ugly incident happening in the coliseum, the coliseum is actually not that bad of a place to watch a game. The fans that do show up to the game are pretty passionate. You also get a great view of mount davis

Yeah, I would love to go there to see a game. Next summer, I'm going to try REALLLLLLY hard to make it to all the parks semi-close to NY. Boston & Baltimore I did this year, but I'd do it again. So... Fenway, Camden, Yankee, Shea, Citizen's Bank... and then, if I get really crazy... Jacobs, PNC...

And I just saw that Pete Rose got 30 days for shoving an umpire. Ummm... shoving an umpire is worse than throwing a chair into the stands at fans? What the fuckkkkkkk?

1) Francisco is really damn lucky

2) Out of all the ballparks I've visited, (Yankee, Shea, Vet, Camden, Fenway, Trop, Citizens, SBC Park, Coliseum) It had to be SBC park in San Fran by far. I was there actually a few weekends ago and boy is that place sweet.

Yep. I want to go to Pac Bell so bad. But number 1 on my list of stadiums that I'm not getting to anytime soon is Petco. That looks so damn nice. Plus it's San Diego.

Substitute "being on steroids" with "sipping on Giambi's juice." So if someone asks me about Barry Bonds I'd say "yeah, he was definitely sipping on Giambi's juice, it's too bad all those records are tainted."

I think Giambi will have an ok year, something like .264 avg, 28 HR's, 87 RBI's. Nothing legally will happen to him.

As for Canseco, he's going straight to hell... there's no questioning that. Just for selling his soul for some C.R.E.A.M.!! There was a good article on ESPN.com about some of the things he says to be factually untrue like playing in game 6 of the world series for the Yankees against the Mets in 2000 (the series only went 5 games).

Still, a lot of guys were on Giambi's juice and Canseco isn't that far off.

I'd love to see a spring training game. Next year I'll definitely try down in Florida.

Yep, sadly we're gonna have to watch Bonds pass Ruth this year and later Aaron knowing that he took the juice. Unfortunately, we can't retroactively go back and strike out records like Bonds single season HR record, because then do we strike out McGwire's, then Sosa's, then ??? You'd be guessing about what is legitimate and what isn't. As the same time, what about the pitchers that are on the juice. Roger Clemens??? I don't know???

It really does taint things because baseball is the one sport where statistics/records really have a lot of meaning to people (like me).

yeah.. but it seems like sosa, mcguire and bonds mos def. took roids... they just got too huge in so little time.. and i dont doubt about clemens either... he became huge too. heh.

It's impossible to take away records. So whether we like it or not, Bonds is the single season HR champ. And will be the career HR champ by the middle of next year...
