i've watched every game minus 2 and i have to say that was one of the cheekiest goal you'll ever see by ibrahamovic. what skill so far; from zidane's flick on backheel to this! woooot!

Posted by starsearcher on Jun-18-2004 20:44:

Man Sweden so far scored the "coolest" goals...I'm really hoping to see the highlights later tonight as i'm just leaving work now

Posted by The Highroller on Jun-18-2004 20:55:

What's the matter Italia? Socks too itchy again?

that goal was huuuuge! starsearcher, you're right, larsson's superman header, now this: very cool goals!

Why, why take Cassano out?
Just like substituting Ronaldo for Portugal in the last 15 minutes...

These are the guys who should be starting. Too bad for Trapattoni, making those substitutions while they're uncalled for just set them back.

--
Aside from all that, there are talks about Totti leaving Roma?
If this ever happens, I'd be pretty happy. (On the other hand he'd be leaving to Milan I believe, Milan is just taking players from Roma)
Well as long as they still carry Cassano, I'm happy. All the trading they've done leaves them with a strong opportunity to pick up some key players. I'd like to see Davids on our side, that'd be sweet.
--

Back to Euro'04, Zidane will dominate...

Tomorrow: Netherlands vs. Czech -- Be sure to tune in!
(FYI: I think Kluivert is starting this one?)

as for england winning it... well lets see how well you play against spain

exactly...he's 18, played 7 or 8 games for England and has already scored 8 goals. He plays better in an England jersey than he does for Everton (my team incidentally). If you guys would actually watch football during the season, the word on Rooney is that he's going to be the next great English footballer, along the likes of Charlton, Moore, Hurst and Lineker. If you don't know who those guys are, you don't deserve to be debating this point.

oh, and it looks great on Italy losing their lead like that. This is exactly why Serie A is a joke...1 goal games, boring defensive play, hanging on to leads. Awful crap.

I hope the pull out a "great" 1 nill victory against Bulgaria and Sweden and Denmark tie, leaving the Italians going home on goal differential. Fantastic.

Funny, you also seem to be a big joke on these boards.

Shut up already you're not saying anything productive here.

and what you're saying is productive? Look at your signature...anti-England stuff...my my, that's productive. How isn't Serie A a joke? Half the teams are bankrupt, the a class players are fleeing to England, Spain and Germany and it features the lowest goal average of any of the major leagues. Obviously, this disease carries over to the Italian nationals. They have never scored more than two goals in any Euro game.

He actually has 16 caps...a fantastic ratio none the less. I think what makes him outstanding is the pace he has for his size...he's built like a brick shithouse and runs like a rabbit. Also, he has passion and will take on anything or anybody. As long he's not sent off, he's golden.

like i said wait a few years.. owen was hyped to be a future legend too when he was 18, but even though he is good now he is nowhere near legend status.

oh and dont assume you are the only one who watched footie during the season. assumptions are the root of all evil

ok wait are you gonna tell me that what makes a great game is many goals? because if so YOU dont deserve to be talking about this at all. case and point today's italy-sweden game... it was a great game... with only 2 goals.. or conversely look at germany -saudi arabia.. one of the worst games ever but ended 8-0

btw out of curiosity i checked this season's goal average for the premiership and seria A... surprisingly they both had a 2.66 goals/game average

so there you go

Italy - Sweden !

Absolutely incredible game ! I loved it ! Best of the tournament so far !

Both teams played amazing, and Italy really really surprised me. Didn't expect this kind of soccer from them.

Hopefully this tournament will feature more attacking football like we saw during that game today !

Posted by Deejiuana on Jun-19-2004 00:32:

Ok Ok Ok, italy - sweden...

Great game indeed - great soccer from both teams........italian players cooperation is just fantastic i think.........too bad after their 3rd or 4th great pass, they screw up....

Italian goal = nicely headed.......

Swedish goal = eventhough it was hell and a total mess in front of Buffon, the finishing was just brilliant (lucky, perhaps, yet great).

but, question: Dont u think that italian players love the grass a bit too much? they're always rollin on the floor, complaining bout how they got hit, pushed and i dunno wot.....ah....it's kinda annoyin i think........

Posted by The Highroller on Jun-19-2004 00:43:

it was even worse watching spain play !

Yea that's the Italian game as it seems lately...a bunch of cry babies that thing they are too pretty to be hurt does any of them actually have short hair?

Aaaaannyways...
I think tomorrow is Germany vs Latvia and Nederlands vs Czechs

Posted by Deejiuana on Jun-19-2004 00:57:

Nederlands vs Czech - that should b nice....

anyway, glad to know that am not the only one feelin this way bout the italians -

the italians play the gamevery well get a goal and then shut up shop

Posted by Cuzo on Jun-19-2004 06:52:

Problem with the wops is that everything they do has to be pretty.....the hair, the jerseys, their trophy wives, and the playmaking.

Del Piero only had to flick it on goal.....but he had to try to have the play of the tourny.

The first half was entertaining football but the pretty one touch passes were still not capitalized enough meaning they need better finishing but being dominant rather than sleepy was a good confidence booster and very pleasing to see finally.

I thought Cassano played strong (the turning point was his exit), Zambrotta had wheels......and Vieri was a big dud.

Anyway if they don't kick Bulgaria's ass. Go home they dont deserve it. Let a team like France you can turn it up when they need to win. Not friggin choke like I've put up with for years.

Posted by Cuzo on Jun-19-2004 06:59:

O ya I really liked Gattuso's tenacity. Hes a big bearded beast but alot of ppl tthink hez a big suck......he's kinda like a Darcy Tucker of Italian soccer. He's pretty intimidating and really gav'r.

Posted by [dave-Da-rave] on Jun-19-2004 08:04:

Wow...Italy was playing great football today. They should've put in more though, del piero himself shouldve had at least 2.
Ibrahimovitch's little flick was cheeky and so sick however u must admit.

Anyway tomoro Czech vs Holland..Seedorf might return to the line-up should be a good match

im just waiting till july 4'th when france wins the tournament *yawn*...
Zidane is the greatest footballer right now , respect him or die!!
ALLEZ LES BLEUS!
