why do i get the feeling you are in your late 50's?

Posted by Vlad on Jan-12-2005 04:31:

How much is it to get into Glow? I need to know how much to bring with me.

Posted by Trancer-X on Jan-12-2005 04:31:

The next time I hit Glow I'm wearing my button-down shirt like the BeeGee on the left:

\

i think $20, although someone said there may be a $5 off coupon

Posted by trancEyes22 on Jan-12-2005 04:32:

vlad, it will be $20 unless you use that coupon (i'll have to find it) to get $5 off. drinks are slightly expensive there...but if you have 3 long island iced teas (at $11 each), you will be more than good to go.

EDIT: oh and parking...the area around fur is *ghetto* to say the least...so you can either:

a.) risk it and park on the street
b.) risk it, park on the street, and pay a homeless person to "watch" it
c.) park down the street from glow where there is reduced parking on the street- $10
d.) park in Fur's enclosed lot for $15

Well, back in my day we had to walk uphill both ways to get to the club and the DJ was still spinning on a Victrola.

hehe, I dont drink LI Iced Tea's. But Im used to $11 a drink, thats roughly what it is here in NY - I know in Crobar Red Bull Vodka is $11.

But $20 is good.

Posted by Vlad on Jan-12-2005 04:36:

Would I need 3 coupons if Im paying for 3 people?

my friend had his car broken into- windows smashed and everything. yeah, he did accidentally have a PS2 in the backseat (he forgot it was showing), but the area is disgusting. it makes where insomnia was look like park avenue. just be careful wherever you decide to leave it!

No, Gibb was their younger brother - the one who died at age 30.

i have a good story for parking near glow.

further down on first ave NE, towards the capitol, there's a bus station and across the street there's free parking on the streets. it's metered, but since we're all night owls, free for our purposes.

i pull up to a spot there and some dude rushes out of the bus stop; he's wearing a budget car rental jacket and stands next to my car, and makes it seem like he's doing a big favor by "helping" me pull into the spot. i catch him say "five dollars" as i'm turning off the ignition and getting out, so my friends and i just start walking away. the guy pleads and says, hey man i asked for five dollars.

me: for what?

man: to watch your car. you see all these cars? (gestures at a few on surrounding blocks) i'm watching all those for everyone for five dollars. i'll make sure nothing happens to it.

me: how do i know you're not trying to rip me off

here the man says stuff like, no come on man, don't play me like that, etc etc, u can trust me bullshit.

i said to him, if you are here at the end of the night and my car's ok, i'll get you five bucks. the guy then knew he wasn't getting anything from me so he said, fine fine, til later then.

needless to say i didn't see him at the end of armin night and my car was ok.

dude i'm gonna be such an awesome lawyer one day.
