I have to agree on some of the umpiring, being a character in the game is no substitute for getting decisions right .

i thought the umpiring (bar bucknors huge error) was superb on the final day. with all that pressure and noise, would have been so easy to cave in but they made right decision after right decision. i've never been so enthralled by a test match... since last week. must surely say byebyes to gillespie, he was a champ while it lasted.

did you get our analyst bits on SBS ? they showed pretty much where he's going downhill, was pretty good to see.

wow what a game, and in the end only 50 runs out! what if... hehehe. the crowd was awesome, i wish we had that kind of atmosphere in the tests here! i wonder if there'll be any changes in the aussie side for the next test. good game

if Brad Hodge doesn't come in for Katich someone please kill the Australian selectors.

Posted by Paulie on Aug-16-2005 13:43:

LOL, they are talking about brining in Hussey into the team. Why even have a fucken swaud if you dont use.

As long as Calamity jones is behind the stumps next test, australia will always be in the game lol

drop Martyn for Hussey and Katich for Hodge in my opinion, Australia needs some fresh blood and these guys I believe, are the ones to provide it. Shaun Tait should also be given a chance ahead of Gillespie. We wouldn't win a game if I was a selector!lol

Posted by Trance Nutter on Aug-16-2005 13:50:

Hussey should be the next choice batsman. Not only has he proven he can handle the English bowlers this series, but he's the next best batsman Aus have, shoulda been in the team before now.

That made me really curious why the selectors called Stuart Clark over when Lee got injured, theres no way he should be selected in front of Tait.

They need to give up on Watson too, hes been hanging around for what, about 3 years now and done half way between nothing and shit all. He's not international quality.

HAHA thats bs, hodge should be picked before HUssey. Hussey isnt even in the squad!

Which is just stupid. Hussey is the next best batsman. It'd be a real shame if he doesn't play test cricket cos he definitely deserves it.

The australian team is a clique, look at Matthew Elliot, Darren Lehman the list goes on and on...This clique is whats gonna be the end of the team, and were seeing it as we speak.

yes, yes it is. However at some stage the selectors are going to have to show some balls and make some changes and bring in new players, like they did with Mark Waugh. Wasn't popular, but it was the right move. If we lose the Ashes, believe me the changes will be widespread. Surely............ Hopefully.................. Maybe.................

However, Elliot lost his spot cos of his knee injury. Lehmann was underperforming, but he shoulda been there for longer (and much earlier), so I agree on that.

ive heard storiesd about elliot - awesome batsman, not the greatest person to have in a team tho

meh it was a great game last nite, i had 3 hours sleep - australia will probably lose the series tho

Posted by Sid on Aug-16-2005 14:53:

Hayden is really struggling on this tour also, Marcus North should come in for him!

Sid for Australian Selector!

Posted by sLiCk_NiCk on Aug-16-2005 16:15:

dizzy's days are limited. i think blood some new talent in tait. nothing to lose. only the ashes...which will already happen.

either hussey or hodge should be included for one of our many out of form batsmen.

well to score 10,000+ first class runs for a state and then to leave with no qualms whatsoever, i can prolly guess what kinda bloke he is.

look its basic really, if you're victorian, you have to wait for selectors to scour the whole continent (yes even tassie) before you even get considered.

fuck i'd love to see tait bowl at the poms, worth to see him bowl 6 no balls in an over for that one that cuts a batsmen in half and makes them shit their daks... on the stumps. out bowled by your own shit. that would be awesome.

that's because victorians generally suck at sport, except for AFL but that's not really a sport anyway

mate senseless bashing of victoria just for the sake of it is childish. biased as my comment may of seemed, i'd like to think there was merit to it (the late, great david hookes can back me up on this one). keep slingin' shit mate but at least have the maturity to contribute something remotely intelligent once in a while.
