Arrow I love buildups!!!

You can cook me up a buildup anytime! Here are some of the reasons why:

Tiesto - Urban Train (need i say more)
Filterheadz - Yimanya (the tribal chants got me hooked)
Jam & Spoon - Odyssey To Anyoona (buildup brings back melody beautifully on return)
Sasha & Darren Emerson - Scorchio (not much of a buildup here except for a brief guitar riff and killer synths)
Kate Ryan - Scream For More (this would qualify as cheese for some of you but i simply love the buildup on this one)

We rant and bitch and argue about it, and nothing is changing, nobody is doing anything except complaining. If this issue is so friggin important, then where the hell are the producers? Why isnt there new trance tracks that dont suck circulating across the internet right now? So the label support for the old sound has faded away, but we have new ways of distributing music now, making tunes is accessible to more people than ever before. If this music is worth a 20 page thread every month, surely it is also worth some new worthy productions and a decent internet presence, yet nothing is happening, why?

The size and frequency of these threads demonstrates that there are enough people interested in the classic trance sound, nearly everyone on here has a computer that is capable of making some kind of noise, we have formed a massive organized network for distributing music files. We have everything we need but still no worthy music has emerged, something must be wrong. There are huge amounts of kids making music, surely some of them are making the stuff you are looking for, I hope you all find them soon. It really wouldn't take much effort at all for each of the regualr complainers to find some obscure producer who makes music you like, and share the living hell out of it until they become recognized names. You constant whiners could even pick up a keyboard yourself if this music is so important to you, and we'd really like to hear your ideas about how music should sound, since you all talk about it sooooo friggin much.

Oh quit your crying. No one here hates trance. Its just a bit crap at the moment...

Try some of the artists on the Spliff Music or Translucent labels and you might find something thats closer to that style of music. Its not exactly early Platipus stuff, but if they were still releasing tracks along those lines, it would have evolved into something like this I reckon. Anyway, it hits the spot for me. Try Electro Sun, System Nipel and Safi Connection in particular. Its all pretty fluffy melodic stuff and technically it falls under the psy banner but its got a lot of similarities to old school trance.

The stuffs out there, you just need to look in the right places

While I'm at it, theres a lot of good shit on these boards if you bother to look. Check out these two by MegaMan. Fucking awesome original sounding trance. No tediously long buildups either.

No, it's your one size fits all version of How Pop Music Works that's really fucking dumb. Try and come up with something that actually works in reality.

Posted by Ishkur on Oct-10-2005 19:21:

No, you're just being deliberately obtuse for the sake of it. You hate it when I'm right, and at this point your only defence is to deny reality altogether.

Very well then.

I've asked you some five fucking times to explain how your theory of everything with regards to pop music applies to fucking Blur or the fucking Beastie Boys. If you can't distort it so it accomodates for them after all this time, I'd say your only defence is to make daft accusations towards me.

Now. In your own time.

so has this incarnation of the same almost monthly argument reached its deadlock yet?

and are we gonna do this again next month?

Well, the System-J VS Ishkur argument was gold anyway. Now they seem to have reached a dead end.

No, I've just put new batteries in my gimp-o-meter and I've felt the need to test it. Seems to be working fine now.

Posted by mr.anderson on Oct-11-2005 20:19:

Only you could come up with something like that & you will soon wonder..." ..why lm such a waste of space...",but dont worry,we wont blame you

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Oct-11-2005 20:38:

If you're going to talk shit, at least argue about something vaguely on topic.

Posted by mr.anderson on Oct-11-2005 20:41:

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Oct-11-2005 20:48:

Well you havnt been reading all that many threads then. Theres plenty of quasi civilised discussions about EDM going on. As for the ranting and screaming... beats giving each other hand jobs about how cool the latest Tiesto In Concerto was??! Its the interweb... deal with it.

And I explained to you, five fucking times, that I already explained it two pages ago, but because you're so fucking unbelievably thick, I will explain it as short and terse as possible.

*ahem*

The Beastie Boys aren't popular. "Fight For Your Right" is.

Blur isn't popular. "Song 2" is.

Pink Floyd isn't popular. "Money" and "Another Brick in the Wall" are.

Get it?

Everyone else gets it, why don't you? I hate having to explain myself to stupid people. If you're still being a fucking retard, any further complaints that you're simply too dumb to understand and persist for further clarification will get nothing more than a cutnpaste of my previous post from me. So either get it, or fuck off. Stop being a pathetic troll.

ahemmmm?

sorry but I've read your posts here and I don't quite get what your saying about these bands either. is the fact that they have hits only because they've decided to make a cheap song that everyone will lap up?

just because a group stumbles upon a hit, doesn't mean they've sold out or whatever. or is that even what you're saying?

anyway, Pink Floyd is widely popular because they've made some hits yes, but I don't see what your point is beyond that.
