I know there are a few of us here in CT at least....(the TA's I have been chatting with thus far are AWESOME!).. I'm sure my friend Jill will come to another show at some point...she did like armin and had fun, but it's not really her thing at the same time.

I was planning on coming down for Ferry this weekend also, but with other things going on plus the potential for rain, it'll prob. be a last minute decision as to whether I'll def. be there. At least, if you can't make it out this time, he'll be back on November 4 as part of his residency.

I don't love him more then anything... just trunks. And that makes him mad.

yea i agree with u, i didnt think it was the greatest set he played but nonetheless i still had fun, in my opinion his best set was when he came to Crobar in the summer of 04

Technicalities....Technically it might have not been the best set ever, but obviously to the people that were there (I'm not sure about the capacity, but probably 1000-2000) it was an unforgettable night, it's only a fraction of them that post here and they're all saying they had an awesome time, and obviously best set for them in their opinion. Now do you want all ~2000 of them to post here ? You'll have a much longer thread than just 10+ pages.
Still find it funny ? Or is it some sort of demented jealousy...

nah..one of the rules of NYTA is that every Armin thread must turn into a flame war

Crobar definitely holds more than 2000 people, especially if it was as packed as I've been hearing.

Posted by Blake on Oct-06-2005 15:37:

yup they sold over 2,000 tickets before doors even opened on friday. their capacity is 3,000 and i think it might have come close for this event. i wonder how it'll be w/Ferry tomorrow.

First chance to post post-AVB/crobar due to a series of unfortunate events. new or not it was probably the best ny club night for me in terms of a combination of great music, great crowd, great vibe, club and meeting some of you TAs. ive only seen armin once before and thought his set was way better than what i heard at spirit a few months ago.

in terms of getting in, 40 was what i needed to get around the serpentine line i found at around 12.30. despite the initial 2nd guessing, at the end of the night i realized it was well worth it if u figure people are paying way upwards of 100 to see the stones etc. avb's an interactive experience that beats that hands down.

met some really cool people and esp TAddicts (speaking of which a special return shoutout to johnny aka djrocket!). the girls were def smokin and i found the vibe to be friendly and not as hostile as other clubs/nights. crobar was a great venue, b/c it not only had that great energy on the main dance floor but little bars/lounges you could hang in and have room to dance or float around. i walked past ditty's booth but didnt have a clue who these vips were until reading this thread (i missed his stage appearance). i confess im a fan of his and admire his savvy and intelligence.

dancing, floating around meeting people ... it was great. the place was rockin (or should i say trancin) til the very end i think at around 8. it was an epic and amazing night. and an insane rollercoaster weekend for me - culminating in a spill on my bike the next eve thanks to a series of unfortunate events including a reckless nypd squad car. other than road rash i cracked my toe, am on crutches and mia for a month or so but all in all it was a great weekend with the high being AVB's concert (and its foible of course being the spill). oh yeah and armin signed my biz card so i thought his approachability was great.

it was a pleasure meeting you guys and hopefully ill be able to ambulate and dance w yall again by november's pvd/roxy concert . . .

PEACE

D

Was I the only one who heard that mix of AvB's 'Who is Watching' ?? I mean, I know it wasn't played for that long and it's not the most amazing track but I figured someone would at least mention it other than myself. I thought it was beautiful though. Was I hallucinating?

Too bad can't see the 9 hour set in Rotterdam in November!!!! A little too far away and out of my budget...I think that's what it said, 9 hours... that is crazy!!! it's on arminonly.com

it's not necessarily his music, just his arrogant attitude and him having to try and steal the spotlight everywhere he goes.
