Re,

I asked for this virgin value 7 day return and it gave me this :

Saturday 13 April 2002 Select return journey time
Monday 15 April 2002 Click

LONDON WATERLOO to BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL

STANDARD OPEN RETURN
90.70

FIRST OPEN RETURN
153.20

Does it mean that the cheapest price is 90.70 a train ticket ?

Cos it twice the price i gonna pay for goin from paris to london...

If you can let me know if sounds normal for you cos i gonna plane if it's the cheapest price i can get.

Btw, the birmingham airport is far or near from N.E.C ?

And during this kind of events is it hard to catch a taxi from airport to N.E.C...

And last one question :

For the cloackroom is there any pb with pack for two days (i'm do they take them (clothes + camera)...) is the organization good.

I mean i went to together for nye two years ago in London. it took 1.30 of queues to get my bag...

Thx all for your answer

I think it's a lot cheaper if you take the train from London Euston and the underground from Waterloo to Euston.
Birmingham Int. is indeed quite next to the NEC!

If you want to go from Euston to Stansted I think it's best if you take the bus. Go to www.gobycoach.com and see what it costs.

that seems a bit steep, that site is a bit hard to understand even if u r english try different times for ur travel it mite come up with cheaper options... you should be able to get a return somewhere around 20 (guess)

as for taxi's, they will be well expensive, they always suck us clubbers dry (because they are all bastards) the airport in birmingham is near the city centre (i think) and NEC is on the outskirts of birmingham... you would be best getting a train from birmingham centre to birmingham international (which is the train station near the NEC) otherwise a taxi will cost 30+

cloakrooms: it wasnt all that bad actually last time, they are fine with massive packs and stuff as they are prepared for ppl comin from miles away for this kind of event... it should be 1/2 pounds an item (i cant remember) and if u get in pretty early like we did last time u shouldnt be quing too long

Miss Proximus is right, you wanna get the train from Euston not Waterloo. The West Coast Mainline runs straight up from euston to Birmingham International. The NEC is literally just over the road from the station. I can't imagine you'll be paying nearly as much as 100 if you do it that way. More like 20 something like that.

Just ordered my ticket reluctantly (You bastard spad )I'm now completely skint , Calla are you definately going??? cos I NEED to come with you, cos I can't get there any other way

Posted by Dj O'Callaghan on Mar-23-2002 00:27:

Yeah I ordered my ticket, its on its way even though usually when I order shit of the net they ring and say you gave the wrong number on the card and its like 'on your site you said the long number in the centre' either way I'll use that tracking thingy magiger. lol you don't need me to reach there cos I don't drive I'd be a menance to Society behind the wheel of a car, but I'll meet you and your mate at Castle station I'll work out a time once I've called the train geezers, which won't be for a few days or a week or two at least. Roll on NEC, ah wicked theres a cloakroom (never thought they'd have them for events this big) cos theres no way I'm freezing my bollocks off lol standing outside.

I'm not sure but I think it's so expensive because you're doing an open return. That basically means that there is no specific time on the tickets, that you can return any time on that day.

Try specifying a return time, and it may come out cheaper. You might want to look in to coaches though at

www.gobycoach.com

I took the liberty of doing a quick test run:

Outward Journey

Return Journey

Fare

Hope this helps mate, looking forward to seeing ya again in a few weeks
