sorry if i sounded unfair on your entry man, but it just seemed like the same thing from start to finish without going anywhere . see if you can get timtrip to upload his mix, that was psy as well but it was built alot better and kept me (as a non-psy fan) interested

ok, thanks isoterra for your patience. here is my set (http://www.sendspace.com/file/q28dzz), i would like another people here in the forum to give me some critics, because other people listened to this and i received very contrary comments to this.

Just a few things also, isoterra, you seem really bothered by the fact that my set has some style variety, i dont see your point saying no one on earth after a tech track.. its not like there is a "style" rule for djs as far as you mix properly, afterall, i decide which track ill switch to, because of how it sounds and not because its labeled "tech" "trance" or "house". However bearing by your opinion i didnt even do that correctly (mixing) during the whole set so there is not much to say.

hehe no offence dude but there is a thing called MIX FLOW :P if u do what u did in that mix in a club you mess up the mix energy and ppl eighter will leave or start throwing things @ you :P because diffrent genres have diffrent moods that ppl receive and if u mess that up and send contradictory moods thru the tunes you play then ppl get annoyed ... very annoyed that's why the line-up of the DJ's is also very immportant. For example in a big trance event with one stage u won't put a DJ that plays progressive trance right in the middle of the line-up say after one that plays uplifting/tech trance cause again u mess with the energy and mood and ppl DONT like that :P

i wouldn't say i was bothered by the variety... there's nothing wrong with varying styles throughout the mix but i think it needs to be done in an orderly fashion, yours went from techno to commercial vocal trance to techno to hard trance to more commercial vocal trance to uplifting to techtrance to a floaty warmup progtrance track to finish (or something like that). and i agree with you that if two records go together well then it doesn't matter what genre they fit into.. but the ones you used just simply didn't seem to go together, they had contrasting feel/pace

if i had to pick one mix i thought was similar to yours in terms of the variety, i'd choose mr2gti's:

1. Dj Misjah and Dj Tim - Access
2. Tiga and Mateo - Simulation
3. Kamaya Painters - Cyrptomnesia
4. The Streets - Blinded by the Lights (Olivier Giacomotto Mix)
5. Moby - All I need is to be Loved
6. Christian Smith & John Selway - The Way It Is (Acid House Mix)
7. Marco Bailey - Bollocks
8. Timo Maas - Riding on a storm
9. Cohen V's Deluxe - Just Kick
10.Warrior - Warrior
11.Circulation - Purple

it's mostly techno-orientated, but throws in some trance with cryptomnesia & warrior, and some really oldskool stuff with moby & the acid house tune. but it manages to work here, even though warrior looks proper out of place in the tracklist, it blends in so smoothly and works surprisingly well despite being a completely different style. no-one on earth after the techno track in yours just made me cringe, especially so early on in the mix, it just sounded wrong

and i agree with warborg's post. even if you go through different styles i'd say the energy level has to be fairly consistent, preferably rising gradually throughout the mix. i think your set would have worked better if it started with love theme dusk, then went onto NOOE, then shivers/dream machine, then language/independance, then the hard trance stuff & then the techno stuff to end. that would have given it some structure, but i still think the variety was a little *too* erratic... mike foyle & the warp brothers are pretty much polar opposites

Rasta Hello!

Yesterday, I notice that I made the 2nd place. I wasnt online for some time, so I didnt see it. Nice, that you judges liked my set so much, although it was pure (morning israeli psychedelictrance) Thank you for the time and work!
Im sorry, but I dont have the set anymore. If anyone of you still does have it, feel free to upload and share it!
I can only offer you some newer sets, but be careful!
The style is much more underground, the right sound to guide you through a true shamanic experience (on this very special substance, the music was made for...)

Thanks for the kind words Isoterra, you know me by now, nothing normal about what I pick to mix lol.

Never thought i'd hear Moby, The Streets and DJ Misjah in one mix lol.

I'm just glad my live skills are getting slowly better, but I have a Long way to go to get to Rockabye's levels.

Top Job every1
