^^
i heard. This is very unfortunate, and may God bless a speedy recovery. Last I heard, he is in critical , but stable condition. I think "the man" took him out, because he didn't want to see the Steelers make it to the playoffs again, and run the NFL tv ratings numbers down to the ground again. "The man" wants to make money, and well quite frankly, the Steelers don't make "the man" any money.

Sorry, I must say it was a bit dumb of him to ride without wearing a helmet

haha yah man no question. Also there are so many stories within the division for next year like TO having a giant target on his back and Lavar probably killing Brunell with a Kamakazi sack. Will def. be some of the best football to watch.

Regarding TO's recent book:

On camera someone asked TO about a statement in his book that they said wasn't true, and TO responded by saying he must have been "misquoted".

So TO apparently misquoted himself in a book in which he was the author.

This shows that not only did he not write the book, but he definitely didn't even read it either.

arm or no arm strength

he's a great QB when he's healthy actually, so it didn't surprise me

probably 2 preseason games before humpty dumpty cracks

Isn't Curtis Martin a little past his prime? Might need to freshen up that backfield.

Is Pennington strong enough to throw a screen pass?

of course he can

will the wind cause him to tear his rotator cuff?

oh yeah

I really wish Matt Leinart would sign already... he's really making me eat my words... I had such high hopes for him...

I'd be chomping at the bit... you have a fossil in Kurt Warner... guy who is one snap away from a concussion and possibly more RETIREMENT... maybe that's why he's holding out though, he knows the Cards need him?

so with that being said whats the dead pool on the first qb knocked out for the season.
My Vote is on Mike Vick
runner up-Culpepper

lol... isn't Vick already got hamstring problems... so he's a clear frontrunner...

My vote is for Kurt Warner
and runnder up: I'm gonna go out on a limb, and say Philips Rivers gets man handled... leaving the Chargers totally screwed, and Gates worthless....

Honestly the falcons back up Matt schaub scared me more than Vick...he actually has taken the time to learn the system and knows his progressions.
Damn got alot of hate for Warner there,if he stays upright he has a achance for a good season(also Leinart is an idiot, just get into camp and learn the system..its not like he isn't gonna play this season)

Its something I do with Old folks like Big Unit and Schilling, and more importantly Rich Gannon: I counted him out for 3 straight years, and he ripped shit up those 3 years in fantasy leagues, and I never took a chance on him.... so I figure, if I keep badmouthing Warner, he'll Gannon it up... but most likely not...

Posted by Member of X on Aug-02-2006 21:56:

I had Gannon for 2 of those good years and one of the bad. Well, I should love Warner but he cries a lot if he doesn't get his way. He's whipped, his wife owns him. He has bad hands still I think and holds the ball too long. Arizon's offensive line is pretty piss poor so he definitely is leading the charge on potential injuries. He looked good at the end of last year though and he's adding Edge. I think Edge is gonna struggle a bit behind the line just like Clinton Portis did when he first went to Washington. Fitz and Boldin are money though, I love those guys.

I must root against Arizona though!

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Aug-02-2006 23:18:

my vote would probably be either Chad Pennington (he's not going to start for the Jets this year, but he's still going to be the first quarterback to go down this year) or Aaron Brooks (well because he's Aaron Brooks. the trend is going to follow for ex-Saints, after LeCharles Bentley went down for the year.)

but i would like to make a prediction on who is going to be the leading rusher for the 2006 season this year. It's not going to be Portis, Alexander, Tomlinson, Johnson, Edge, or Barber. It's going to be a big surprise. This year, the big top runner is going to be ...................... Ronnie Brown .

And I'll say Cadillac Williams will be top RUSHER!!!

Posted by Member of X on Aug-03-2006 04:04:

Ladainian Tomlinson or Larry Johnson

I just don't see how it won't be either one. Pick the upset but I don't see it happening. Ronnie Brown will be good but he's never had the full load at RB. His entire career has been sharing carries so I don't think he'll last over the long haul. Good but not the leading rusher.

Posted by King Ecnal on Aug-03-2006 04:23:

I just can't see how LT won't run wild. He's going to have to work extra hard, because he's got Phil Rivers. I mean, I know we're talking just rushing, but even dumping it off to LT. Rivers is going to be under pressure, and dumping off a screen pass to LT should take place a lot this year.

I'm seriously taking LT with the first pick if I got it... just for the reasons I mentioned...

as for high hopes, i really have high hopes for arizona and where they are heading . as long as edge stays healthy, and warner can get himself out of trouble (probably not), boldin and fitzgerald are going to light up the scoreboards. This has got to be the best wr duo since moss and carter. no doubt. there were rice/taylor, reed/lofton, irvin/harper, and etc .... but i think this duo boldin/fitzgerald could possibly be the best wr duo ever. I may sound like an idiot sounding like they are better than jerry rice, but i don't think there is any defense right now that is capable of shutting down both boldin and fitzgerald at the same time.

oh yeah and smith/mccaffery
burress/ward
