Conclusion in the dotvinyl case ;-)

Well, today my story with dotvinyl comes to an end... I wrote them 3 more e-mails - and as you can probably guess, of course they didn't reply to ANY mail.

So, a week ago I was finally sick and tired, and I wrote my CC company a letter with all the necessary info, so they can charge back the payment. Well, and they were really fast - the money was back on my cc account today

And well, as far as I know, chargeback costs A LOT of money, which dotvinyl also has to pay now. When I now see how many people on the web posted their bad experiences with dotvinyl...well, they sure have to pay a lot of chargeback costs every month - let's hope they give up their online store soon, so they can't fool people anymore.

So again my advice: NEVER ORDER AT DOTVINYL.COM!!!

Oh and btw, I ordered at chemical-records for the first time, two weeks ago, to get the limited test pressing of "The White Room"... And I can only recommend them! Very fast, very good order information via e-mail, extremely good packing and nice prices aswell (especially 2 pounds shipping from the UK to Germany is very cool)! Try them ppl

AVOID HARD TO FIND RECORDS

Right, i order 2 records online on Tuesday

I get an email back saying their payment system had a problem even though my card was all fine and dandy, i ring the chap up. He orders them and payment goes through.

Next i get an email today saying the items been shipped but one of the records is out of stock (white label and a month before gen release, rare).

Me fuming, rings up HTFR.

I explained the situation and told them that its crap business to do this. You cant have one guy telling me up and taking payment for two records then to say one is out of stock 2 days later when it clearly isnt.

The silly mare on the end of the phone then proceeds to tell me that it's also a shop and it might have been taken off the shelf before they picked it. Sorry but 2 days to pick an order out takes the piss.

She then goes onto tell me that Platinum customers get the priority of the order and get them picked immediately. The fact its a shop means that its unlucky that someone got it in this '2 day period' of me making making the placing the order and then getting it picked.

I told her well what are you? An online store or a shop then? Cos what im hearing is you say you cant do both.

I hung up and now in the process of writing a strong worded letter to the management about their shoddy practice.

Take my advice avoid these pillocks like fu*king aids.

What a joke HTFR are

I had good luck with Dancerecords.com in the past, but last order they send me a warped record. A good record store would replace it, but i emailed them 4 days ago and no reply. At the very least i won't be ordering from them again. Anyone else have any experiences with them?

They replied to me today saying they would send a replacement, so i'm back to recommending them as a good record store especially for those that live in the us.

Just wondering - has anyone ever used www.web-records.com?? I wanted to order some stuff from them and I don't know if they're ok.

I had the same problem with HTFR as barryfigiel when I ordered "CJ Bolland - The Prophet" and they also repeatedly managed to send me records in knackered sleeves.

I now use Juno for all my purchases and have never had a problem - and all my records arrive within 2 working days with standard (first class) delivery (I live in the UK).

Posted by Simcut on Nov-06-2004 21:12:

Juno's packaging is a bit gay tho.

its a fucking nightmare to get records out of it, you end up bending them near enough :S

btw, where in Herts r u mate?

Has no one heard of scissors?
I haven't had a problem opening juno packages, I just cut along the side.

My only problem with Juno and replay, is that they do something different than Chemical, cause I always have to pay customs with juno and replay orders, yet with chem I have ordered plenty of times and not once had to pay.

I have to pay more than $10 customs for a juno order if it has 3 records.

Its unbelievable just read the first post in the thread..2 years on and people are still getting ripped off..made a sticky for good reason

Posted by Timski on Jan-20-2005 00:51:

Due to this forum as of late I am conviced not to shop at htfr... never really did in the first place tho... i would also just like to quickly add my 2 cents and share my hatred of euromusicworld.com... a store that seems to have alot of good stuff, then once ordered will sit with the money taken out of your account... then leave it a week or 2...

and simply put the money back in there again!

Thats happened to me 2 times now... so yeah iam done now [/winge]

It would be cool if someone started a poll (maybe this has been done already), listing all of the shops, and then people can vote on them, like 3/5, 5/5, and we would have some sort of rating system for the shops based on user experience with them.

Chemical is probably the best imo.
VERY fast shipping and excellent packaging.
I live in Thailand and they arrive within 4-5 days.
