Oh and spurs signed a lens defender. If you want to talk about a team buying their way up, it's spurs. in the last 3 yrs they've bought......

Vincent Kompany with HSV dress






Hamburg paid around 8 Million for him. Teams like Lyon or Tottenham also were interested in him and Tottenham even would have paid more money than Hamburg, but Kompany told Anderlecht's officials that he wants to play for Hambur.

He signed a 6 year contract in Hamburg.

Kompany will replace Daniel van Buyten who is going to Bayern Munich. Munich has to pay 10 Millions for him and he signed a 4 year deal with Bayern Munich.

So we paid Kompany with the money from the van Buyten-deal and even have some money left

Kompany is the most expensive transfer Hamburger SV ever had.


Watch out for us next season!!!

Our defense: Mahdavikia, Boulahrouz, Kompany, Atouba

Our midfield: de Jong, Demel, Jarolim, van der Vaart

And we still have around 15 Millions + possible 15 Millions if we qualify for the CL to buy 2 new forwards.

I've never had a favourite German team, but I followed Hamburg last season after they signed van der Vaart, and with De Jong, Boulahrouz and now Kompany, they are my favourite Bundesliga team for sure. They are building an exciting young team, I can't wait to see who else they add and how they perform in the CL

good point, but let me ad to that that when necessary he can play petty good in the midfield too, he even showed his class a a right winger once for the belgian squad

This deal will be good. Bolton have a next sale clause in, of about 10% which will be nice Eidur is classy, We worshipped him when he got his career back on track with us, he was a nice lad too, met him outside the reebok before & he was a great guy

Eidur Gudjohnsen to Barca for �8million. (not done yet)

I'm glad they finally signed Poulsen, he's a great player and if he gets the chance to play at Sevilla, Then he's going to be great.

I was at that game (FA Cup Semi Final, 1999) and Eidur was magical, I'm happy if he'll end up with barca, he's too classy a player to sit on the bench at chelscum

Eidur Gudjohnsen is one of my favourite players in the English Premier League.

If he moves to the Spanish La Liga, then I'm very sure that he'll do just fine while Chelsea is losing a great attacker. He's surely top class.

Done deal. Gudjohnsen to Barcelona, 12 million euros to be paid in 4 years and 3 more millions depending on titles won...

A bit expensive in my opinion for a striker who wasn't even a fixed starter in Chelsea. Good player though, should be a smart move by them.

Would be great signing tho. Lahm is one of the best in his position if not the best player.

Hamburger signed Paolo Guerrero from Bayern Munich.

After Vincent Kompany he is the second player signed by Hamburg in off-season.

He will propably fight with Benny Lauth for the 2nd forward position.


But Hamburg is still looking for a 1st forward. So if you know one who costs ~10 Millions and is a good scorer, please send him to Hamburg
