I see the reviews and I think the TA's might have been the only one's with criticisms tho, bc it seemed as if 99% of the people there were going buck wild. hehe I got into it for a while but I liked his other shows better.

Dinaire party was awesome, I wouldn't hesitate to see him or go to the venue again....even tho I was sooo icky looking after 10+hours of dancing and being in huge crowds....eww...sucks to meet so many people at that time of night LOL LOL scary!!!

*On that note tho, I met some fantabulous people, and I talked their ears off!! Can't wait to see yo asses in toronto in a couple weeks!!!*

I swung by Element for Ryan Tyas' set, local friend It was neat to see him play in a different city, and thanks ryan for bringing me the records from Sean! We only stayed for a short snippet of VD's set, then zoomed off to Nikki Beach to catch Thomas Bronzewater. We had a lotta fun though. Ryan had me groovin' when he dropped Mindcircus.. one of my fav's!

cool videos colordancer!

that song that you have the two parts to, i forget what the first one is called, but the second one is called "down the drain" by i forget who. there's a partial tracklist on one of the previous pages that might have the artist name.

that u2 - without you remix isn't nu nrg, i've heard it in another set and the tracklist listed some unknown to me artist.

anyway, i went both nights and had a great time the first night, and an even better night the second night. maybe that's because pvd high fived me and took my sign to show central park. ended up getting a picture with him, a signed poster, and the drummer came over and handed me his drumsticks. that show blew apart every other show i've ever been to. i'll try and upload pvd holding the thank you sign video soon.

edit: the other video is called I'm feelin you ( i think) with vocals from peter heppner.

Where are all the people who were up front dancing and jumping around with me, like nuts, how come none of them post here??? All I knopw is everywhere I looked everyone was having a good time, maybe all the vetran TA's are getting a liitle sick of the scene, but us newbies, seem to love the outdoor experience, with the energetic crowds. Maybe this is like when I was into rock, all anyone ever said is Greenday is a sellout and Offspring sucks, blah, blah, blah, but evreytime I went to their concerts I had a really good time. Im not an expert by any means, I can't name tracks, comment on equipment,Im not a producer/DJ or even have the right to talk about ones mixing, I just appreciate the energy and happiness that comes from this scene. I like the fact that trance is still underground here is the USA and we in this little community support each others nedeavors, whether its promoting or DJing. The older folk, like me, enjoy the outdoor events because obviously indoors is way too crowded. I guess if ignorance is bliss, that explains why Im the one to always cheer on ultra and made, because overall they do a fine job, and the way i measure that is by the amount of tickets sold year after year, and the fans that always come back for more!

i can't believe you would try to defend that? oh well everybody just loves stuff and won't see things any other way i guess. you sir, are an idiot.

Vinyl warps.
Needles expire.
CD's scratch.
Guitar strings snap.
Sax reeds crack.
Drum heads break.
Computers crap out.

As musicians, you best be able to handle some sort of fuck-up, it's a tool of a trade. If your a guitarist and you blow your amp; were you relying to heavily on it??

I was up there bouncin' around with you; but usually I'm too busy dancing and don't have the energy for posting. It's just slow at work today

Was it me; but I kinda got the impression (esp. Friday) that people weren't really there to have a good time. It's like as soon as they got there, they got out their note pad and little red pen and began searching for things to nit-pick and complain about. I didn't feel that tension as strongly on Saturday. Just expect it to be what it is; if all someone is gonna do is complain about something why bother spending your money on a ticket?? Gheeessshh!

+1 I feel the same way, im not older, quite young actually but i feel exactly the same way, and i was right up front dancing my brains out.. the only time i had to sit down was when i really had no choice cuz of my bad knee, i enjoyed every minute except the waiting in the heat.. but once the music came i had "the time of my life"

hehe I know, that happens entirely too much on this forum...people need to just lighten up and, if they find themselves complaining about every party, then its time to realize that maybe this is no longer the scene for them....

Some people who complained about PVD in this thread are at Love/Sullivan Room/Cielo several times a month listening to kick-ass deep dark funky get-down shit. Not "Time of our Lives" If they complain about a party, I trust their judgment.

On the other hand, you're right about one thing: they should get out of THAT scene. The PVD scene. I am such a biased person, sorry.

Posted by yankeeBaby on Aug-23-2006 00:36:

^^ That was exactly what I was saying...I didn't think that PVD was that great, but I am happy with 99% of the trance events I go to....I was referring to the one's who go to EVERY event and have a list of complaints everytime. Doesn't make sense.

Who in this thread goes to EVERY event and constantly has a list of complaints? If anything, a lot of the complaints were from people who I rarely see post on here.

You have not spent much time in the 3 clubs she listed if that's your opinion. Anyone who says that Cielo is not a dancing oriented club either has no clue or is certifiable.

Fuckin W3RD!!!!

notice how different (in a good way) his sets used to be before Ableton.

Notice the build up in Blank & Jones - Desire (PvD rmx), pay special attention to track selection, notice the variety - going from trance to D&B, prog, techno. Pay attention to sheer awesomeness of placement of such tracks as B&J - Desire, Aquanuts - Deep Blue Sea, Blackeight - the Silence, BBE - 7 Days and 1 week, and so on. Pay extra attention to amount of time given to each track. This is what i'd call "mixing", "track selection", "set structure", and "pure musical extasy".

Now, this would be considered a classic, mind-blowing set.

"the mothafuckin saga continues!"

p.s. no drop outs, no crappy transitions, no trainwrecks. Perfect. This is the PvD that we used to know and love. Not the one that keeps on showing up more and more often over the last few years. I can tell he's gotten tired of "old" style and tries to evolve. If you like it - great. Old fans go, new fans come - I say.

I am saying every event that they go to...obviously one can not make every event in NYC, that wouldn't make much sense now would it?
