I'm going with Arenas... only because I thought he would be a HUGE bust in the NBA, and he's done nothing but make me eat my words ten fold...

he's the REAL deal!

GP MIN/G PPG REB/G AST/G FG %
32 40.0 30.5 4.6 6.6 44.4

PG in NBA ranking @ cbssportsline
1. Arenas
2. Wade
3. Nash

I guess based on stats and this ranking I will jump in on the Arena MVP train.

But they gotta make it far in the playoffs also. That will show he is a leader and thats where the MVP comes.

PG 17

Just for kicks: Does CUBAN still do the 100+ points = free gordita. As I relaize that taco bell scare probably made it free wendy's $1 JBCs

Well, seeing how the Spurs are playing, I think that Dallas a good chance at winning it all this year. Its still january. Although, I still want Nash to win a ring. I never really liked Dallas, maybe because they are our biggest rivarly right now lol. Anyways, if Spurs can pull it together, we have a good shot at it too.

Same with Karl and Stockton with the winning the ring ish..
When you win a championship is having minimum one NBA great and then role players that a get the job done.

EX..MJ+role players
SHAQ+role players, oh yeah that had kobe also err
SHAQ+role players, oh yeah they had wade also err

see the trend.. but

karl, stockton+role players (did not cutit)
nash+ role players(did not cutit) yet....
dallas same with the suns..Once they win the chapionship then I will agree their role players cutit. They got Dirk NBA great but the role players will have to do their job as well

Scottie Pippen was voted to be one of the top 50 players of all-time. Little bit more than a role player.

I think it's always about 2 superduperstars.

Magic and Kareem. Magic and Worthy.
Bird and McHale
Jordan and Pippen
Snack and Kobe
Snack and Wade
Hakeem and Drexler
Duncan and Robinson

There is a few exceptions lately though. Duncan and supporting cast. Detroit no true superstars. Different formulas for different eras of basketball...evolving as the game evolves. The new rules made it less emphasis on individual play.

I'd like to see Lebron get a running mate.

Lebron and....
Kobe and....
Garnett and.......

Denver is trying to do that with Melo and me myself and Iverson. However, Melo is more of a scoring stud than a true all around superstar. Sort of in the mold like Dominique Wilkins. A star but not a championship winning type of guy.

Hard to argue against Nash type of consistency.

Well, I got my own thoughts on any MVP, so for me, I always base it on if a guy leads their team to a good record and/or playoffs... but how well you do in the playoffs, I don't think that should be a factor in deciding MVP... but thats just my opinion...

also, Caron Butler is having a VERY impressive years, as well as Jamison, so Arenas has a great supporting cast, and the East is pure SHIT, and the HEAT seem to appear to be DONE, so who knows, Wiz in the finals...lol....

Posted by Kapedano on Jan-06-2007 21:19:

If Arenas plays the way he is playing, then he should get it. Its still early, but this year, I dont think Nash should win it just because he isnt that great of a player. He is great, but not elite. Anyhow, maybe if Arenas takes Washington into the finals, ill give him all the credit.

He hasn't faired too well so far in the NBA in comparison to Wade and Lebron in terms of victories added. Christian Laettner led his team the championship in college Vern. I like Melo, just needs to expand his repertoire beyond scoring.

MVP is voted on regular season only. The ballots are sent even before the regular season ends. Plus, the playoffs have their own MVP's. Finals MVP, conference MVP. That shouldn't be a factor.

MVP candidates: Dirk, Arenas, Nash

I think MVP should be about most valuable player to helping his team win. So his team better be damn good. Sort of like what would his team be without him on it. Example: take Peyton Manning off the Colts and they'd be shit.

Posted by King Ecnal on Jan-07-2007 00:28:

ummm... Laetnner had Grant Hill... and one of the best NBA players ever: BOBBY HURLEY!!!!!!!!!!!

Melo didn't have shit on Cuse...

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Jan-07-2007 06:58:

i am a big fan of melo (i will still back him up on his sucker punch on mardy collins. lol). but he needs the right people around him to have some kind of success with the nuggets. he's going to end up like kevin garnett. a lot of talent surrounded by scrubs. i think when melo comes back, the melo-a.i. combo is closely compared to that minnesota team that almost made it to the nba finals, with spree-cassell-wally-garnett.

in other news, jermaine o'neal is starting to gripe that his clock is ticking fast now. i don't blame him. pacers are very mediocre this year, especially al harrington. pacers spent a lot of time to bring him back to indiana, and so far this year, he has been under expectations.

Posted by Trancealot on Jan-07-2007 19:39:

OMG Dallas Lost. Thats it they are def not winning the championship!!!!

JK.....Kudos to the lakers. Kobe won that game. Impressive stats.
STARTERS M FG FT TR A PF PTS
K. Bryant, SG 41 9-20 8-9 8 6 3 26

Baby Jordan stats and a win

i can't understand how come you don't include KB for mvp candidates

Posted by bananas on Jan-17-2007 20:54:

jasikevicius goes to GSW, interesting trade between indiana and gsw

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Jan-18-2007 02:30:

in one of the most f'd up trades i can think of since the past couple of years, indiana amd golden state makes the most insane trade ever.

indiana gets:

Troy Murphy
Mike Dunleavy
Ike Diogu
keith mcleod

Golden state gets:
al harrington
steven jackson
josh powell
saurunus jasikevicius

great move by indiana by unloading a big chunk of their payroll for cheaper players that want to play every night. i had confidence in harrington being a solid contributor for the pacers, after his stint at atlanta, but he's been disappointing. i am afraid murphy and diogu will not get the playing time they should get, with oneal and foster logging key minutes. dunleavy should play the 3 spot very well for them, or move to shooting guard, with granger at sf.

as for golden state, they are starting to look like the knicks now. bloated talent, big payroll.

Posted by Trancealot on Jan-18-2007 04:08:

My notes for this evening

1. Damn I am suprised I am saying this...

Sacramento <= Knicks, I added the = sign because I did not want to add insult to injury.

2. Plus I am not suprised after reading about Gilberts antics he got shutdown. I mean don't go telling the nation "give me the ball and I will hit it", thats why he got schooled against Maurbury. I want gilbert to take the wizards to atleast the 2nd round. If not then he is just another so called Kobe.

3. That large trade. Never heard of any player except harrington and never really cared for him

4. I can't wait for the New Detriot(C Web), New Nuggets(Melo back) to play. Mini freakin all-star teams.

5. My team orlando is hurting. Give me some help!

Posted by fmodena369 on Jan-18-2007 05:56:

Ike Diogu was the best player in that trade...ASU REPRESENT
