ive got a feeling that this will be the next single after "shite lies" to be released off the album.

looking forward to buying it though, im liking alot of what ive heard so far in recent sets/radio.

a few of the tracks have grown on me like "new york city" and "get back".
i really like "let go" and "dolce vita" along with "another sunday" and "cast away".

does anyone else think the track "in between" sounds like "holden + thompson - nothing"???

its shaping up to be a good album and a vast improvement on the borefest that was reflections and im glad its not half full of this "synth ballard" nonsense that some producers fill their albums with.

Posted by PatMcGroin on Aug-10-2007 02:22:

havent heard it yet, thatll be for tomorrow, but i hope its better than shitflections.

what im expecting is a couple (3-4) good tracks and half absoulte shit and the rest "eh."

we'll see.

Now that you mention it, it does sound a bit inspired by it. Not anywhere close to as good, however.

i really like the vocals on 'fall with me' for some reason

One. Huge. Rip-off.

Posted by eltomas on Aug-10-2007 14:13:

So far I've liked:
New York City
Another Sunday
Far Away
In Circles
Castaway
Complicated
Get back
Dolce Vita: this one sounds like an old tune for some reason, don't know which one though
Let Go is begging for a remix

far away will not be single, it was released in vinyl along with white lies.
if anything it will be 'Let Go'

I wouldn't say Reflections was shit but it could've been a lot better. Seven Ways is still his best piece of work by far.

And +1 on the latter.

Posted by woscar on Aug-10-2007 22:11:

OK, gave it a listen today and I have to say I'm quite surprised since I was expecting a shitfest andt it's actually not that bad.
At least, it's definitely an improvement on Reflections.

Paul should be very ashamed of this album.

I don't get how someone who used to have a leading role in the production of music in the late 90's ends up ripping off idiot producers like The Egg; or has to resample his kicks over and over again.

This album is, with the exception of 2 or 3 average tracks, a huge pile of shit. Yes, shittier than Reflections. Surely only blind fanboys will dig this... it's beyond hilarious actually.

Posted by Acton on Aug-11-2007 00:47:

im going to keep this post short

This album has made my year, i think its F*****g brilliant.

yes, complicated does rip off the egg, but we all knew that and despite this, i still think its a good tune.

i was a big fan of reflections, but Paul has really brought it together with this album. Top notch stuff, and i cant wait to see him in th UK on 5th October (along with Luke Terry obviously!)

Hazar's are in order

Posted by eltomas on Aug-11-2007 03:35:

at least there's no hip-hop nonsense on this one

I've been a hating on most trance that isn't played by j00f or lawrence for the past couple years but i gave this one a try anyway. Right now I'm mainly into the house scene but I don't mind checking out whats going on in trance since thats what sucked me into the EDM world back in the day.

The only tracks I enjoyed were Haunted, In Between, and Detournement (actually just the 3 hour breakdown I enjoyed since I love the violin). The first track Haunted actually blew me away and I absolutely loved it.. after that track I guess I had higher expectations for the rest of the songs, but none seemed to compare to that short little piece of Haunted. I also enjoyed the beginning of La Dolce Vita because I thought I was listening to 4 Strings - Take Me Away. Other than the songs I mentioned, the rest of the tracks just seemed bland.

thats what i ment, oviously the quote thing on TA wont let you quote more than one poster at once without having to go through a headache of cut and pasting....

as for the guy bleating on about ripping off "the egg", well doesnt every "electro" dj in the house scene do that every day using the same basslines and blatantly hammering middle C in every track they make??? after all its the same farting sound used by all these MOS/MTV favs.

the other guy that went on about "get back" sounding too much like "life less ordinary"? well thats because he co-produced it with ALEX MORPH.

"another sunday" is from probspots "blow my mind" and according to the credits, its "paul van dyk ft probspot" and its sung by ben lost so its not from some random sample cd like someone suggested.

it does sound like some of the tracks are a little similar to others but if they were too obvious then they wouldnt get released to copywright would they?

as for another one that people were matching up with other tunes, "stormy skies" and "ralphie b - massive" anyone???

its a good album going by the myspace previews, not a world beater but up there with his best.
for anyone who goes on about it being a shitfest then you obviously didnt hear "elements of life"

I did hear EoL and I rate that much higer than this overhyped snoozefest. And no, I didn't particularily like EoL either.

Posted by stefanoc on Aug-11-2007 08:28:

i just quickly heard the album and i got to say its not as bad as i was expecting. i had lower expectation because of the reputation pvd built in the last few years. but this album came out to be better than i thought.

i rate it as OK, because there are some good sounding parts in it. however, there is no songs that makes you say 'this is the shit' and what happened to the song he was claiming to rip for an angel apart? probably the best part was the track in between but it was short or maybe needs an extended remix which might be great. many of the songs need an extended remix to really tell how they are
