this thread has become very interesting. it started out as quite a legitimate "why" thread and now its become just an attack on myras mod abilities

frenchie and others: there is a difference between saying "lets do ______!" and actually doing. im sure youve heard of jackass...who hasnt...they have had a disclaimer saying "dont do this at home" yet kids all over the country EVERY day do this shit. does that mean that jackass should be held responsible? hell no. they chose to do something either illegal or just plain stupid. same thing goes for this bday thread thing.

also INCITING violence is against the law. SUGGESTING violence is not. why? because if i say, "we should go kill a black man" but some dumbass actually does it, then he is at fault. reason being HE chose to kill the guy. even though the i put the idea in his head that dosent make me responsible for his death. now if i actually had a slight participation, such as i watched it happen and did nothing, then that is INCITING violence. you all (the ones that are obviously not understanding the gravity of the situation) need to understand this.

zxdevil: you sir are quite amusing. your attacking someones mod abilities yet you obviously dont understand the point of a mod. they are to keep things under control (reasonably of course) and in line with the rules and policies in place. wreaking havoc, while not in the rules, is inherently forbidden. the bday thread thing was the definition of wreaking havoc.

hey, i'm all for useless banter, and i take part in it myself quite often.

in this case though, a line was definitely crossed, and actions had to be taken. essentially that's the job responsibilities of the moderators in a nutshell, isn't it? to decide when things have gone too far and to do something to stop it.
