Diabetic retinopathy is one of the leading cause of blindness in diabetic patients. At first patient with diabetic retinopathy does not feel any kind of changes but with time it get worse and leads to vision loss.
There are 4 stages of retinopathy and first three stages does not requires any kind of treatment. In later stages with macular edema, vision loss is seen.
Patient with diabetes should control there levels of:

Blood pressure
Blood sugar
Blood cholesterol

Treatment in prolifirative retinopathy

Prolifirative retinopathy is treated with lasik / laser surgery.
In few cases vitrectomy is done

Treatment of macular retinopathy


Diabetic retinopathy
