cool, gotcha, tho the copy i got does not sound like the one in the mix as much, same structure but it sounds like a diffrent vocal sample. Hrmmm....

i don't remember the tune exactly, but i'm pretty sure that the version that oakie plays is uber rare...and possibly not released. like i said i forget...but i'm pretty sure there is a Native Mix and a Native Vocal mix...

Ok, haha that must be it, im listening to the Native Mix and the mix in the set is the Native Vocal Mix, shoulda figured that one out my self

hehehe...that's a pretty old vocal sample too. its been used in a lot of tunes through the years. i forget the tune that it first came from, but its a lot older than you would think..

Posted by AndiH on Jul-15-2004 10:55:

The sample was taken from a track called "Only You" by Miriam Stockley (of Adiemus).

Kelly and Lee apparently didn't get the permission to use this sample for the commercial release of "Utopia".

saw that too lol I dunno how many copies there are

Posted by Floorfiller on Jul-15-2004 22:28:

this came up in music discussion a couple weeks ago. there are definitely more than seven hehehe. many TA's have a copy, but its still rare and hard to find

Posted by XaNaX on Aug-04-2004 15:23:

Man, I need to get better copies of a few of these EMs. If anyone has the full set and wants to hook me up PM me. I would be looking for:
NYE
Creamfields
Homelands
Buenos Aries
Sydney

My copies of those are partials, not the whole set.

Oh, and I don't support filesharing blah blah blah but I assume this is a different case as these are recordings of a radio brodcast not commercially released music.

Thanks!

Do you guys have some information about that Marillion track? I've never seen it on vinyl, you can listen to it on Marc Mitchell's site in real audio, but well, that's not really good enough for me And does anyone have contact address for Prism so we could send a sample to let them ID it, or has that been tried before already.

that marillion track was only released on CD

Posted by ryo on Aug-10-2004 18:25:

that sucks. Maybe we can make a list with all the tunes he played and then for each tune give the vinyl information, whether it's released etc.? Now I always have to search on Discogs etc. but most of the time I'm still not sure about it

Posted by Floorfiller on Aug-10-2004 19:24:

well if you type out a list of tunes....i'll tell you if they are released or not

Posted by ryo on Aug-10-2004 19:36:

I'll start tomorrow

Most of the Essential Mix world tours were actually studio mixes. Is was a project to showcase some of the many great tunes Oakey recieves, that would otherwise probably never see the light of day. And some other great tunes that would to that matter.

The Source "Fly Away" is an early Andy Gray & Paul Oakenfold project that was never released, although it did appear on Essential Millenium (mix cd with Oakey, FatboySlim & Pete Tong).
Andy Gray is the Producer behind Amoeba Assasin along with Steve Sacre. Uses the Access Virus quite abit.

What is it with Oakey and the way he keeps records for himself. Although Piledriver got a limited release on BPM, Oakey then bought the rights for Perfecto, and then never released it. Just like Jan Johnstons album wich never saw daylight.

the promo version has a bass pattern slightly different to the mixes put out on general release (give it a close listen!)

Lost in Space got a limited white label pressing (2001 - 2002) I'm gutted I missed out on a copy.

Unicorn is Remix 99, the Mas-Tea Mix.

RE: Space Brothers aka The Realm "Lost in Space"

This can also be found on The Space Brothers album "Shine" under the name of "The Same Journey"
It was originally hammered exclusivly by Oakey in the Courtyard with the "Lost in space vocal". Although when it was released on the Album, it was given a new, Female vocal to fit in with the rest of the album. The Space brothers then re-used the vocal on "The Realm - Lost in Space on 3beat records)I was gutted when the lost in space full release on 3beat was a real dubby affair. bollocks.

If I'm not mistaken, God Damn Noise was released, but only 500 copies were pressed.
