| Originally posted by ChemEnhanced It may be too early to tell but has the "Own The Podium" program been a success? Right now it doesn't seem like it. We haven't done any better in the areas where we normally don't do well and I thought part of this program was to better are chances in these events. We have been terrible in cross country skiing, ski jumping, and biatholon. Without a substantial increase in medals from previous years I would say the program was just a great big waste of my tax dollars. |

The Swiss better not win again, don't want a repeat of Torino!
The most stressful match of the tournament....it looks more as the final

Ok, from now on the talent doesn't count...it's all about luck

Canada did not have their legs tonight. But Brodeur was calm in net especially in the shootout, which was the best thing anyone could have hoped for. I knew Canada was going to win in the end, but it went to the bitter end with a battle between 2 good goaltenders.
Canada will have 2 days of work ahead of then until they play the US on Sunday which will be a great game for sure. I'm predicting Brodeur again in net against Miller. That 2nd goal by the Swiss was a lucky bounce of Marleau's skate. Other than that... the one slapshot that got by Brodeur was the only accountable fault.
We'll see how we fair against the US, but it doesn't get any easier. I hope to see more Crosby in the next game.
But Heatley!! No matter what team this kid plays for, no matter what attitude he has... he always scores goals!
BTW PRONGER.... stop taking dumb penalties when you dont have to!!!!
^^^ I'm rooting for the Ruski's too, so that we can meet them in the finals
Alex The Gr8 is unstoppable right now.
Team Canada looked like they were letting the pressure get to them. They were making unnecessary & stupid passes when they should've been focused on keeping it simple and shooting it on net more often. Crosby needs to take the initiative and I sincerely hope that the shootout lit a fire under his ass to take more shots on net. We need him to be scoring, not just worrying about making a pass to not seem greedy or a goal hog. If he keeps scoring, no one will care.
