Pauly D is without a doubt, the WORSE dj I have ever heard in my life. I try to be very respectful to all artists and find some way to appreciate the music they play. But I'm sorry, I just couldn't do it on this one. It was just plain bad. I went from the happiest day of my life to the most miserable. The drunker I got, the more painful it became. The dance floor was dead. People were trying to dance but you could see that it just wasn't working. Maybe that was the plan. Get Pauly D to play outside, forcing everyone to move inside and dance to Armin?? Having a local DJ's mixed CD play for everyone would have been more exciting then the bullshit this guy turning out. sorry for the rant but c'mon Palms. You guys are better then this. |
What a Party Rehab with Cosmic Gate at Circus Sat
Wow what a party at the Palms. Thank you to Reza and Nancy for taking care of LMD.. Dont forget the Rehab party with Cosmic Gate at Circus ticket are $10 www.groovetickets.com
Great weekend in Vegas, to think that I almost didn't go...what was I thinking??!? Where else do you get Cirque du Soleil inside a nightclub along with Trance & Progressive?
Markus' set was the highlight of the whole weekend for me, just amazing. I met some people upstairs on the balcony who had never heard him before, and they were all completely stunned with how good his set was. Oakenfold was a good warmup, wish Markus could have come on earlier...lol
Sunday night with Armin was uber uber packed!!! I like a good crowd on the dance floor, to the point where a lot of my friends would say it's too crowded, but damn having sex with a hundred people around you and not knowing it...I had to leave the dance floor and go outside to chill from time to time. Wasn't too into the opening of Armin's set, he was coming off Reza and blending in some House which didn't really get my attention. Got better into the night though until Armin ended his set at 4 a.m. and Gareth seized the decks. Bangin set from him, I can never get enough of Metropolis and Exposure even though they border on being mainstream these days due to their exposure...lol
Excellent turnout by the West Coast TA's too. And for the White Party with Markus, we were ALL wearing white...how did that happen?
Everyone was back on Sunday for more. Many thanks to Michelle & Greg for helping the lost find their way (including me...haha)!
I'm sure these events did extremely well and there must be some happy promoters out there! So many Armin & ASOT tshirts too, I know that the music mattered to a lot of the crowd...there were plenty of competing events but this was it! My only two complaints were that sound on the right-side kept cutting out and coming back in on Sunday, and I started smoking (second-hand, that is). The smoke was so intense at points that my eyes were stinging so bad, I didn't realize how good we have it in California now!

Also better late then never, here's Danny T at his best!
He begins to mimic me lol

little video for public
I wasn't going to hunt this thread down to complain, but since it popped up here on the first page I may as well take the time to echo many others and say that palms was a complete FAIL on memorial weekend.
Satrurday was a cluster fuck but I have had worst nights.
Sunday seriously was a joke of a club night. The pool party was good, but the fact the the entire left side of the sound system would fail each and every time a beat dropped in was unacceptable. Was there even a sound tech on hand all day? It was extremely annoying and continued thru the entire day until it was finally sorted out once Danny T got on around 4PM. By that time the party had thinned out.
The night party was beyond rubbish. The sound in the main room was horrible. There was no high end coming from the system making for a muffled muddy bass all night long. Not to mention that Reza reminded us all why he is the worst DJ ever. You could not go outside to escape the bad music with Steve Castro living up to his infamous train wrecking and 10 year old track selection. However Reza was dethroned by Pauly D.
I cant begin to describe how bad Pauly D is. I have seen thousands of DJs over the past decade. And I could see thousands more for another decade and not see anything near as bad as Pauly D.
The best I can do to describe it (since it cant be considered any genre) is a sound of Top 40 mashups (top 40 from the mid 90's) smashed into cookie cutter electro beats. Not only could he not beat match (he was using his laptop too), but he would simply cut a track out completely and just start up another one at a completely different BPM and of a completely different genre. I seriously sat there and watched him attempt to mix out of a latin house track mashed up with a nirvana track, into the original version of around the world by daft punk. Not to mention his las vegas updates on the mic every other track
The promoters should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such nonsense on such a crucial weekend. I didnt have high hopes for the weekend musically, and just wanted to hang out with all of my friends. But that was just beyond bad. And to hear Pauly D is getting something like 30K for a gig is just unbelievable.
Hey Josh...
Can you show us something that you have done in the past or have planned for the future that is better so that for my future endeavors I can ensure that we make sure people like you are comepletely happy.
Its funny how people just hate and have nothing good to say when there were actually thousands of others that had a great time and say it was one of the best weekends ever.
You know when people are hating you are doing something right...
^^^
But is anything he saying a lie?
Nope.
So is it hating?
I don't think so...

We're all pretty big supporters of Rain, the events you put on and DJ's you book. Its just a simple observation and opinion. I don't think anyone was trying to "hate".
A simple "I'm sorry you had a bad experience, I hope the next one is better for you" is a better response. In the end, most of us WILL be back... that is unless, you book Pauly D again
edit* bored at work.

I am not even going into the details as I refuse to share the reaosns why I do things but I can assure you everyhting had a reason. I can aslo assure you that half of the things you have speculated are completley wrong.
Lastly I will say that thigns do go wrong, we are not perfect in any way, we put a massive amount of effrot into this weekend/ everything we do and anyone that wants to hate can go right ahead with foinally stating that until you have shown me that you can do something better I will politely pull out a chair and ask you to be seated.
Thanks...
