@Fran666: Thank you for reminding me of previous year's lineups, but unlike many "virgins" here ;-) I've been going to the Black&Blue since 1992 (although I didn't go about 3 times). It's very easy to look up back on the names and say those weren't a big name DJ, but for the gay crowd, those were the DJs they were listening to back then. I do agree with you, however, that it would be great having Seaman back, as he was my favorite DJ last year and the year before.
I do agree with you in that no one is critizicing the Trance room lineup. It's stellar.
Let's be realistic. It's as much about the party as it is about the music unless your're loaded with alcohol or pharmaceuticals. I've mentionned this back when Stereo was having their surprise DJ nights. Some DJs (as good as they can be) just shouldn't play certain events or at certain hours.
@ WittyHandle: So unless my opinion is positive, I'm whining ? Are you american by any chance ? ;-) You have a twisted definition of "freedom of speech".
However, I do agree they dropped the ball this year, especially when you compare it to the Trance room.
Also when I mentionned "for the sake of money", there was a reason. Let me refer you to the first line of the wikipedia link Fran666 provided. The Black&Blue is a benefit. The goal is not to make a profit but raise money. There's a distinction.

happydude72, just wanna add that you are wrong thinking that all the effort was put in the trance room... it's just organized by different people to cater to a different crowd... louis is bringing a tested and approved night (tranceformers) to this massive with the unique goal of
1. pushing tranceformers night at circus and its djs
2. make b&b even bigger.
3. he loves trance.
Cudos to him to have convinced bbcm with hard work and results, making his vision reality.
long story short, put the money were the mouth is. it will work if you do or you wouldn't. lol

I'll be the first one to applaude if the last headliner is a good one, my problem (and this is personal) is that it's too little too late. I have to plan ahead for a party like this (thank you Chicoutimi ...) and at the moment nothing is interesting for me, I'm passing.
That being said I agree that B&B is much more about the party than the music, it's just that I think people expected more from the 20th anniversary of B&B, mebbe they just created expectations that were to high to meet ...

@ Fran666: I'm calling it quits on this thread after this message, since we don't seem to be speaking the same language. I criticize the House room (and maybe the inclusion of Trance at the B&B) and your defense is how great the Trance room and King Louis's organizational skills are, both of which were never put into question and I've mentionned this in every post.
Further, I would like to apologize, since this is the "Trance room" thread and we (the disgruntled House room fans) "hijacked" it to complain about the House room quality. This happened since this thread was created before the main Black & Blue thread and thus had more visitors.
Also, I wasn't suggesting that all the effort went into the Trance room but clearly more thought (and maybe more ressources, assuming that Trance DJs are generally more expensive than house DJs). Again, this is a tribute to King Louis' skills and vision that I feel, he did a better job in the Trance room than the BBCM did in the House room.
@ WittyHandle: I have quite a few American friends which are some of the nicest and friendliest people out there and so, I'm sorry I used a stereotype brought on by only a few "bad apples" in the U.S., i.e. republicans :-) [... hopefully you're not republican too ;-) ] I sort of hinted at the joke by putting a wink in my message. However, I did get a good laugh when you confirmed you were american.
Also, I do get annoyed when I want to have a serious discussion and someone's reply to my comments is that "I'm whining and complaining" rather than to address directly my comments.
Here's to hoping that King Louis' tastes in House music are as good as his Trance tastes and that I can trust him when he says the last DJ is worth it.
