malkin did fuck all in the playoffs last year anyways.

even a malkin free pens team has to be considered as favourites over the habs if they meet in the playoffs. The pens have crazy depth.

I think Philly is going to win the cup this year. The only question mark is in goal...what a stacked team, tailor made for the post season.

Posted by Spin Laden on Feb-09-2011 00:00:

are they going after Guiguere?

Crazy depth is Philly indeed, Pittsburgh isn't all that great, imo. They have great team toughness and are decent down the middle with Staal and Crosby (when he comes back) but after that, meh.

Philly's the favourite for sure and I'd say Washington, Montreal and Boston have outside chances for an upset.

philly will b in eastern final for sure

against who i don't know... doubtful about the caps though, they always choke in playoffs... id say its a split between mtl, boston and pens

one thing we have over philly is mr. price... however their offense line is like 2x our size so :S

Posted by Spin Laden on Feb-09-2011 00:22:

in the west it will be Detroit I think. As much as I love my Canucks, they lack Detroit's experience and Chicago's mettle. San Jose's always a dark horse but they can't win it all with Thorton and Heatley, imo.

Posted by Marcus007 on Feb-09-2011 00:40:

nah san jose always choke

id say canucks take it to western final only to get beaten by detroit

theyre generated alot of buzz regardless of the lack of playoff exp

West : Vancouver because of the twins/kesler/luango they added some very solid D during the summer and they have a very solid team for the playoffs

East : Phillie, such a stacked team with so many good centers. BUT I'd bet on two other teams. Washington will go a long way and I truly believe that they can beat phillie. They have better talent and they actually learned how to play D.
And Cinderalla team pick : 514-MTL . If Price decides to play to his 110% he can bring us further then Halak.

Holy fuck, tonight was a ping pong and boxing match!

i wonder if the NHL will issue a warning to the Bruins. I'm all for old time hockey and some grit...but at the end of the game it was exaggerated and bad for the sport....Jacques Martin is an idiot though....why was Pleks on the ice in the final minute vs the goon line? Bad coaching 101.

it is official: Scott Gomez is a useless piece of shit that doesn't care about anything other than a paycheck...he needs the Wade Redden treatment. They really should send him to the minors to ride the bus for a week or 2.

Lars Eller? How can the Habs let him have so many games in the NHL when he needs some more minor experience. I get they have to justify to the fans because of the Halak trade...but Carey has shut them up...call up a guy that can at least bring something to us like a bit of grit.

gomez is terrible. i agree completely. he's -14! lolllll

i also agree about eller. he just doesn't belong in the nhl at this point in time.

Posted by Zyklon_Jay on Feb-10-2011 23:14:

it is too soon to say anything about Eller except that he is not NHL ready yet. It isn't his fault he got traded for Halak, so he shouldn't have to pay for being inserted into a lineup in which he has no place in...at least not yet...we will see in 2 or 3 years.

he looks like he is 15! never mind growing a playoff beard, i am having doubts that his pubic hair has grown yet! a boy cannot play a mans sport.

im annoyed @ subban and Gill for not killing Lucic when he hit Price. That should've been a green light on the spot.

Posted by Zyklon_Jay on Feb-11-2011 02:45:

Subban was told he is not allowed to fight. JM has him on a very short leash. Gill? Really? The guy couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag. Being big =/= able to fight.

I'm not impressed against the Isles. We need wins against bottom feeders...

Posted by Zyklon_Jay on Feb-11-2011 02:48:

this is why gill doesn't fight. he has also gotten his ass kicked multiple times against way smaller guys.

My buddy saw Chara and Lucic at Cavalli, he shat bricks.

Posted by Zyklon_Jay on Feb-12-2011 20:27:

unless they play for the habs. I had a convo with Cammi at the UFC after party at mise au jeu...and the whole time i could not help thinking at how he must be scared shitless going into the corners against big guys. He barely reached my chin lol...my gf towered over him too.

Posted by Abercrombie on Feb-13-2011 02:47:

Nice game. Feels good to win while in a Toronto sports bar in my full Habs gear, and not fight anyone on my way out this time.

Posted by princesultan on Feb-18-2011 20:07:

our defense has been hit really hard. losing Wisniewski for a prolonged period could really hurt.

Alex Kovalev to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a conditional seventh-round pick.

What a change in value from just a few years ago.

Could they be any more desperate!?? Maybe they are planning to bring back Lemieux to make Kovy produce!!

Posted by ChemEnhanced on Feb-24-2011 20:21:

The Montreal Canadiens have acquired defenceman Brent Sopel and forward Nigel Dawes from the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for forward prospect Ben Maxwell and a fourth round draft pick.

Price needs to rest after a long road trip.. I'm not worried about the Toranah Make Beliefs.
