I decided to give myself a 2-week break, and I'm back to the routine. on top of hitting the gym and going to uni with my bicycle, I'm thinking of doing this at home.

Up to repping >200lbs on my deadlift, which isn't relatively all that much, but I'm pretty stoked on it.

Basically it's as bad as every free training program in internet.

Reason why I'm giving it a try and finding out what it is that I need to change. It's not like I'm going to do everything as it is written regardless of the results (and it really didn't feel like I was doing something my body wasn't ready for).

Yup, you read that right. My body is ready.

Did my first 10k since June last year this morning. Bang on 53 minutes - far from my best, but respectable considering that seven weeks ago I could barely run two miles. It's fucking freezing outside as well; I ran down the Leeds-Liverpool canal, which was completely frozen over in places. My hands are so numb I could barely unlock my own back door.

I really wish it was cold and snowy here... we're sitting in the fucking 60's again. Happy December.

it's 69 here right now. perfect weather. better than the 90's in september.

Put on 2lbs over the holidays. FUUUH.

Went running for the first time since about the second week of December yesterday (have been lifting though, but I need to lay off a bit I think, as I've uhh strained some stuff haha).

Anyway, felt good, though I didn't eat nearly enough yesterday, was up at about 1am and starving, and then didn't eat anything till 1pm today and now I am tired. :@ Will try and lift tonight, just upper body though.

Just do squats, man. All you gotta do.

Posted by srussell0018 on Jan-03-2013 23:15:

And dead lifts man. Fuckin squats and dead lifts. All day.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Jan-03-2013 23:21:

Exactly. ALL DAY.

I bet her cart filled up by the time she got through the line.

I get that this is sort of a joke, but it's sorta true. If you're using correct form, of course.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Jan-04-2013 01:21:

I can't run because my left knee is fucked. Luckily the weather has been awful for the last couple of weeks.

Posted by Vernon Wanderer on Jan-04-2013 01:29:

I have bad knee too. But I don't give a shit cause I'm a cyclist.

Yea, but my hypochondria says I will get hemorrhoids from it if I do it too much (and doing research its actually pretty common ).

Honestly though my breathing sucks balls when doing dead lifts/squats, I try to remember to exhale but I find myself holding my breath, and thats just really not good at all.

i ran 2.1 miles today on a course filled with hills. it was 40F (4C) outside. was a great run!

Posted by Spacey Orange on Jan-18-2013 01:29:

i'm looking to take something up something to get some exercise, get my heart rate going, and am looking for some ideas. please do not mention fapping. (i'm looking at you AnotherWay83)

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Jan-18-2013 01:30:

Swimming, Martial Arts, Weight Lifting, Dance Lessons, etc.

Posted by Spacey Orange on Jan-18-2013 01:34:

i used to go to the gym but it didn't stimulate my mind enough such that i was bored there. and then it seemed that half of the people just went to check out each other.

i thought about taking a martial arts class some time ago but totally forgot about it till you wrote it. i will look into that. thanks.
