i think theres a movie "Pi" that talks about this or something related to it

'Pi' is a pointless film. don't even dream about seeing it.

Katana = Some sort of big sword right? Although I don't know where it comes from

Somnambulist (a BT song) comes literally from Latin meaning 'sleepwalker'...

A Katana is, or was the trademark weapon of choice for the samurai warrior in Feudal Japan. A katana is revered sacred, and was thought to represent the essence of a samurai warrior and his code of bushido.
In case your wondering what it looks like, it's usually a 2.5/3 ft blade that has a slight curve.

And still nobody has given me the definition of Autumn Tactics.
And for For an Angel, I could've swown I read an interview where PvD produced this song in dedication to his wife...yes no?

read back a bit. it's been covered. and, naw, it was only in Prague. used for storing gunpowder at some point in history.

in a much non-related subject,
i will slap you if you refer to Darren Aronofsky's work as 'pointless'.

dJohn,
'for an angel' has been covered before. the angel in Berlin.

Dancing Dude more song names

I dont know about PvD's for an angel being a dedication to his wife, but here is what I am pretty sure of, feel free to correct.
PVD - Together We Will Conquer, song to his wife
PVD - Another Way, label problems, tryin to get around the problem, another solution for it.
Could Out There and Back be like, PVD thinking of quitting music industry because of label drama?
Motorcycle - As the rush comes, pretty obvious aside from the vocals, but I think thats the feeling G&D wanted to evoke out of listeners
Frequency 8, a label out in San Francisco uses a lotta philosophical and taoist themed names for songs such as Peaceful Warrior, the title is an oxymoron but taoism is a lotta opposing ideas like that.
Deepdish - Mohammed is Jesus, name is obvious but an awesome message of unity none the less.
Oh, and can anyone clarify any of Commander Tom's songs like Are am eye, f bee eye, eye c red, or any songs under the Noom label like Tres Chic, the cow and esp. mooh york, which rocks by the way
thanks

I know Kinky Toys - Carpe Diem means "sieze the day", its a decently well known saying, it was on the Dead Poets Society movie and robin williams was teaching it to a bunch of college students.

I know Walhalla is also a city in Hawaii, and on the cover for the single of walhalla it shows a city of some sort...

I do remember hearing the saying AirDrawnDagger being said in the shakespearean play Macbeth (it caught my attention when it was said while i was sleeping in english class =P). but then again what exactly does it mean? and why did sasha choose this name?

i think a lot of us should mention not only what the name means, but also why it was chosen. like why does mauro use reptiles for some of his song names?

lets see what else...i think for BT - Godspeed, godspeed was one of the boats that mageleon used to sail across the world...not sure.

and as for Evoke - Arms of Loren, who in the hell is Loren?

Carpe diem, Memento mori.

Seize the day, Remember [you're going to die].
it's an epicurean belief, i think.

edit: 'Seize'

Some more info for everyone----

Orbital--Halycon is named after the anti-depressant the mother of Orbital's Phil and Paul Hartnoll used to take.....

Ayla--Ayla--Ayla is the name of a Turkish girl that was in the studio when Dj Tandu and Dj Taucher were making this track

PVD--For an angel-- PVD says--"I recorded it straight after I met Natascha, who is now my wift. I had to go to the studio straight afterwars and I was thinking of her. I first met her at a party in Hanover in Germany, but we fell in love at the Love Parade in 1994. You could say we are a real love parade couple."

Laurient Garnier--man with the red face--title comes from the sax solo in the track....the sax player Pjilippe Nadot's race turned red as he strained to hit the high notes....

hope these help

Posted by mcdpitt on Jun-30-2003 21:23:
