Kevin Smith is definitely a genius. I think I'm going to watch Clerks right now.

I think I might as well...

Though I tend to enjoy Mallrats a little more...it is the most re-watchable of the movies IMHO.

I go back and forth, Mallrats is a bit more silly humor. Clerks is a little more subtle, a little darker and, I think, more profound.

Yeah....they all have their high and low points.

"Yeah, I mean aside from the cheating, we were a great couple. I mean that's what high school was about, algebra, bad lunch, and infidelity."

I have to agree with Daff on this one

Mallrats was one of the funniest movies ever, especially the game show, but overall I thought Clerks was one of the most well written scripts Kevin has done. Although not a lot of people liked Chasing Amy I thought it was right up there with Clerks for its offbeat comedy. Mallrats was made as a straight up comedy whereas Clerks and Chasing Amy went against the grain. Those 3 are my favorites followed by Jay and Silent Bob Strike back and Dogma, which I thought was a decent satirical attempt at mass religion in Red Bank, NJ (30 minutes from me)

I still remember this summer when they were filming Jersey Girl in Philly. Every day they would have the J.Lo watch in town by my office hehe

I will say though, that Jason Lee is easily 1 of my favorite actors even though he pretty much plays the same role in every film

Ok....I never said Clerks was worse than Mallrats. I like them both equally, but Clerks is not a movie I can watch over and over and over again (though the cat cracks me up every time) Mallarats, because it was just a fun movie, I can watch till the cows come home because jason Lee is incredibly funny in it.

Chasing Amy is the "best" made of all of Kevin's films in my opinion. The acting is pretty good (even Affleck who I hate) and the script is well written. It also gains goodness due to the presence of Lee who is hilarious.

Bottom line, Kevin Smith makes good movies. I have bought every one of his movies on DVD as a pre-order all the way back to Clerks. And I will continue to do so.

I just finised watching clerks for the I can't count howmanyith time. Damn it is some fun.

OOOH NAAAVY SEALS!

i'm watching hebrew hammer on comedy central. my jewish roommate insisted i tape it for her, she's been so excited about it for a week now. has anyone watched kid notorious? i love that show.

in regards to kevin smith, i think dogma is often overlooked in its brilliance. i might just find it more entertaining because my family is catholic that i find it so funny, not sure. "leave it to the catholics to bring about the end of existence..."

Ya Dogma was awesome...but you really have to be Catholic or live around catholics to get it. (I am technically a catholic though we stopped goign to church before my first communion). My mom thought Dogma was grat and she went to catholic school.

Basically a big wrap up essay on what ive learned in my American History & Science class.

not a big deal, its juts ive got an entire semesters worth of information and i need to go back on all the handouts and stuff ive read online to find key points AND structure a well-balanced essay without regurgitating all of the main points we talked about in class.

Started feeling pretty shitty, coughing etc on my way into work so came home after an hour....grrrr I hate missing work when I am sick cause I don't get paid when I am not working. Also it has started to drizzle and is supposed to be pouring rain all afternoon so I won;t be able to go do anything since I am sick.

Just my luck.

Well...SquirrelRadio will be broadcasting all day since I am home.

http://12.211.169.125:8000/playlist.pls is the address (I think you can just click the link now and it will open winamp/iTunes automatically when you open the .pls file)

Have a good day those of you who aren't ill...I am going to take a nap.

Posted by crchingtiger on Dec-09-2003 16:47:

get better mr.s!
sleep, eat soup, orange juice, blow your nose like every 2 seconds, drink like a gallon of water an hour, and watch cheesy movies all day...
that seems to work for me

Posted by daffodil on Dec-09-2003 17:59:

well, maybe i'm getting a bit better because i am one cranky banshee. aren't you supposed to turn really irritable as you're getting better? if so, this will be the quickest flu recovery ever, which will confirm one thing: i rule.

ok, so i'm still amused by randall... i love all the things that are in every kevin smith movie. references to a sexually deviant cousin walter, rick derris, and dying mid-backstroke from an embolism in the brain. such quality

mr s, get some mango sorbet and take insane amounts of ibuprofen. it's been working well for me!

EDIT: scratch that, i'm feeling shitty again.

MrS

Posted by Mebot on Dec-09-2003 20:51:

Back for the evening since we had an airplane we had to bring back from Vancouver after a run in with a flock of snow geese. It was a valiant fight, and we won, but not after about $10,000 Damage done by those critters. At about 100ft off the ground the landing lights lit them up (it was very much night). I took one off the radome, and another through the #2 prop and it ended up in the inboad flap. Parts ended up on the wheelspar and along the fuselage, another strike on the wingroot is either a third bird, or more parts...I didn't see any go over the top of the plane...but the flock was around 100 birds. We were lucky to only hit 2-3. I pulled up over the top of most of them...but during the recovery, we decided to miss and bring it back around...The 767 behind us peeled off his approach as well.

I tell ya..too much work for one day...so I get a few free hours at home before returning to our trip tomorrow afternoon.

Well looks like everyone is having a wonderful day.

I did have one good thing happen today...my Red Wing boots came back from the shop resoled and with new leather toe caps. My feet will be very very happy starting tomorrow. These boots are soooooooooooo comfortable. And they should be they run 200 bucks a pair lol.

Ate some chicken noodle soup, did some dishes, bought a lottery ticket. Should go over to the grocery store in a little bit. BUt I might just decide to forget it until tomorrow. But I really should get some milk and bread and lunch type stuff for tomorrow. And hope that I feel ok in the morning.
