Im taking advantage of my free session with one of the gym trainers tonight because I realized that a lot of the machines are sort of intimidating and Im not quite sure how to use everything. Ive been sticking to the same machines over and over and I really want to use the other ones but I look at them and Im like wtf how do I use this thing? Lol

Also, any of u guysor girls I should say see dudes in the gym who seem to follow you around and use the machines right next to you? lol this one dude seems to do that whenever we are there at the same time. He uses the machines that are like practically on top of mine and we are like 2 inches away from each other I can almost smell him lol. He is so jacked though holy shit. He is like 6 ft and probably 250+ lbs. Like fitness model material. Im kinda digging that big look now. The only thing I dont like on guys and never did is perfect washboard abs. Six packs are gay. Im all about big chest and shoulders and only mildly defined stomach. Even if they dont really have a lot of definition in their stomach at all, thats fine by me. Its all about their arms, chest & back.

Anyone else anti-6pack? I dont like them on females either I would never want one.

Wow...just wow is all I can say after hearing some of this CD, lol. Hearing Arnold trying to "pump you up" in an aerobics style is just priceless.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jul-16-2008 15:50:

I don't like 6 packs at all, especially on chicks.

Can't say that dudes follow me around in the gym, thank fuck. Definitely seen a few weirdos though.

Posted by Slylee on Jul-16-2008 15:55:

well i dont want to sit there and assume "oh he wants me" lol that's obnoxious but i just find it funny that he is always conveniently working on the same body part as i am. last night he walked in the gym after i had been there a few minutes and i was doing my warmup on the exercise bike and he came right over and used the one directly next to me and there were totally other ones he could have gotten on that weren't right next to mine lol

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jul-16-2008 15:58:

Shit like that pisses me off man. I would understand if it was the only available bike...but some people have no fucking concept of personal space. I generally follow the rule that if I can give someone 3 feet of personal space, I will give them 3 feet of personal space. God fuck, I hate people, lol.

You don't like that on guys? Interesting. I have seen all sorts of freaks in the gym.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jul-16-2008 15:59:

I don't like muscular dudes at all. Trim and toned, yes..but I feel pretty meh about anything more than that. There are exceptions...like Ryan Reynolds. Woowoo!

Ugh....That shit happens to me all the time. Moreso with some stank ass guy though that will walk all the way down to the end of the cardio section where I go so I'm not next to anyone and they jump on the one right next to me!

Posted by Slylee on Jul-16-2008 16:01:

well i don't really mind cuz he's hot lol

re: abs/6packs: the reason why i really don't like them on guys is because it shows a little too much vanity for me. like they have to be perfect and they spend way too much time and energy into looking perfect. if he just has big arms and chest and isn't like mr. perfect/not an ounce of fat on him, that's more attractive to me than mr. perfect washboard abs.

i wouldn't say i like "muscular" dudes, but i am really digging the big beafy tall guys now. like 6 ft + and 180 +...not necessarily perfectly toned.

like big sexy teddy bears

EXCEPT for Ryan Reynolds:

edit: And abs are not really that hard to get....it's all body fat and diet.

Posted by Slylee on Jul-16-2008 16:06:

no i don't like that

he's too pretty

Posted by Slylee on Jul-16-2008 16:13:

i like baseball player type bodies...pro of course they don't really have six packs i don't think. just huge arms and chest and nice butts and legs. same with football players too now that i think of it.

Posted by chimera66 on Jul-16-2008 16:25:

you'll be surprised althletes now a days are jacked. they are basically paid to workout.

see i used to like that too but not any more. i like big guys. probably cuz i've always dated and been with thinner guys, but now that i dated a big guy like i described, i'm all about that...the kind of guys would could bench press me lol now i see skinnier guys and im just like "ehh..no thanks".

brian you'll appreciate this lol i was talking to sash last night and we were talking about our workout routines and he is a pretty good height..like 5'11/6 ft but the last time i saw him he had lost weight. anyway, i was like, "yea u should get up to like 200 lbs" and he was like, "no i'm good at like 195". but i was totally encouraging him to get all beafy. he would be hotter if he was huge. i'm horrible now.

abs are actually rather hard to get in my opinion. I have almost no body fat and go to the gym 3-4 times a week. Each time I'm there I do about 200-300 crunches with a 25lb weight on my chest and am slowly increasing it and have been doing this for about 6 months and still only have a sliiiiight 4-pack. Then again, for someone of my stature it's hard to get any real muscle increase even if I ate right (which I used to) and did the whole protein thing (which, once again, I used to).

Posted by chimera66 on Jul-16-2008 16:46:

i wouldn't say thin at all. i'm talking james blake / rafa nadal NOT juan carlos ferrero / novak djokovic...thin is not cute.

jamie - if you're digging the guy, maybe he can be the one to show you how to use those intimidating machines that you are so afraid of. girls need to be more active in the gym and approach us guys since you are the ones establishing the "i don't like guys talking to me at the gym" lol

personally, i like toned stomachs on girls, but what really gets me is a defined back. I love girls who have muscular backs and shoulders, i don't know why i just find it really attractive.

As for me, I'm aiming towards the six pack abs, but have found a bit of vanity in myself. I guess it comes with the territory, I definitely don't do it to show them off, rather more to aid my athleticism. I'm no where near a six, but far from beer gut...i like to think of it as an athletic body type - shoulders, chest, cut triceps, slim and tight biceps (not rounded out cannonballs hahah).

And since we are on to our athletic body type likes - for me it's womens beach volleyball, runners, swimmers, and tennis players. The body type I'm aiming for is swimmers/runners/cycling build

yea i am really focusing on my upper back and shoulders/arms. i think that's hot too on women.

and i DO want to ask him how to use the equipment but he always has an MP3 player on and i'm scared to look like an ass like, "um excuse me" and have him not even hear me and walk away

bri you look fine. u def have some big arms and shoulders without the 6pack thing going on..it's perfect. dont get a 6pack. it's gay.

Use the rowing machine Jamie!

Posted by trunks1022 on Jul-16-2008 17:16:

i'm interested in female swimmers/runners/tennis players bodies. athletic but not too built up.

right now i have the runners' build. not totally thin but there's enough defition on my body. i do enough lifting on my upper body to keep it toned and i'm working harder on my leg muscles. i find it better to be called skinny rather than fat

i dont have one at my gym.

my fav back exercises are the one w/ the freeweight and u kind of lean over the bench and pull it back to your hip...whatever that's called. i did 3x10 with 15 lb dumbells last night.

and i like the machine where u sit up straight (no back support) with your feet in front of you pressed up against the board and u lean forward with the weight and pull it out....what's that called?

i like doing shrugs too for the shoulders. i use 20 lb dumbells for those and do 3x10

i'm bringing a little pad and pen tonight for my training session so i can write the names of the exercises i'm going to start doing.

i wish i could do the backwards situp for my lowback but my ex said i shouldn't because i have a bulging disc in my low back that gives me pain in my legs and butt. he said i could injure it or make it worse by doing those. but i love those.

Rowing FTW!

My trainer has got me doing interval training on the rower. 1 minute on and 1 minute off for 19 minutes (row 10 minutes). Its great because it means overall you push yourself so much harder than you would if you just did 10 minutes straight.

I used to max 2000m in 10 and now i am up to 2340m (yes I am a weak girlie type).
