Tallest player in NHL history

I can't remember who he fought, but when Ottawa got pasted by Toronto 5-1 he tossed his opponent around like a rag doll it was sad.

He is a freakin monster.

Oh and I just read on NHL.com that the Habs have acquired Kovalev from the Rangers they're stacking up for the playoffs...

C'MON BURKE DO SOMETHING!!!!!

you're just bitter that I ranked Toronto third...

hey, here's a joke for all you Leafs fans :

So one day at a local Toronto sports bar, a man brings in a parrot with him while they watch a Toronto ML game.

All of a sudden, a Toronto player delivers a huge check to the opposition.

The parrot spins around, runs along the bar, and proceeds to give everyone high fives.

Then, Toronto scores a goal!

The parrot flies up in the air, dive bombs and zigns between all the chairs before landing in triple flip on top of the bar. Everyone in the bar cheers.

Toronto ends up winning the game, and as the final score is announced, the Parrot whips out a huge wallet and declairs that the next round is on him.

Finally, the bartended goes up to the person who brought the parrot in and asks him that if the parrot does all that just for a game win, what does it do when the Leafs win the Stanley Cup?

The guy looks at the bartended and says "I don't know, it's only been alive for 36 years".

yea, that was kind of lame.

Minor update: Apparently the Bruins have acquired Gonchar. I still don't think this will push them over the top to take over Ottawa, but they should give Toronto and Jersey a run for the money for home ice advantage, which is oh so important in the playoffs, much more than people think.

LOL @ Malek!

dude that.s been my wallpaper for the last 2 weeks. i found it on google too!

The leafs will only be dangerous in these playoffs if they get Pronger today

So keep you fingers crossed

Posted by mr. poopyhead on Mar-03-2004 21:51:

gonchar to bruins???

who's left for the leafs?? old man leech?

Posted by Projekt4.o on Mar-03-2004 22:15:

hill, carney, zidlicky, tarnstrom <--- that guy from Pens, i think he is still leadin his team in points, ....hockey is a team sport and one guy probably won`t win a game for u.

Chara is a monster hehe good one to bad he got injured after that fight with McCabe

Montreal should really focus on not embarrassing themselves like they have twice already (during practice) if they wanna get anywhere. I don't care how they sugarcoat it. Shit like that will cost you games in the playoffs.

And a comment on McCabe: this guy is seriously pissing me off. He acts like a bigshot but when the gloves come off he's usually the one getting whipped. Don't get me wrong. He's a great player and a key asset to the Leafs success, but you either act like a toughguy and live up to it when the time comes, or focus on being a clean, physical player.

what happened to MTL?

Posted by Ralex on Mar-04-2004 00:40:

Mutiny in one case and idiocy in both.

During practices, some Montreal players got into a fight with each other. Now is a team like that worthy of the playoffs when they fight amongst themselves? What happens when they are down 3 games to 1 in the playoffs? Are they going to blame each other and start some sort of mutiny against Koivu? Will some of the players get traded? Whatever happens, Montreal needs to clean up their act and Koivu and the other assistants need to take their job more seriously.

Posted by Magimaster on Mar-04-2004 00:45:

I believe the incident occured between Saku Koivu and Mike Ribiero. Don't know exactly what it was, but it was enough to maek Habs fans boo Koivu whenever he touched the puck for a small stretch of games. It also sparked some interesting dialogue from "grapes" (Don Cherry)...can't remember exactly but something about Koivu not being fit to be the Captain of the Canadiens because he's not French.

Bunch of crock anyways, who the hell listens to Grapes?

Don Cherry is an assclown. He should be banned from any sort of public speaking.

edit

The Toronto Maple Leafs just picked up Brian Leetch from the New York Rangers. They gave up a 2004 First Round Draft Pick and a 2005 Second Round Draft Pick and 2 players which I haven't heard of.

Posted by mr. poopyhead on Mar-04-2004 02:58:

#24 does deliver clean shots and body checks, and u know the only way to get back at the guy is with fightin, sorry not everyone is made up to fight in this game, and why does he pick guys bigger then him.

One little question is this habs thread or the Leafs, huh

Posted by mr. poopyhead on Mar-04-2004 03:07:

They interrupted the Raptor Game earlier tonight on Sportsnet to announce the trade

Great trade...MUCH better deal than what the Leafs would have done to land Gonchar (acc. to the rumours).

I can just see it now.

Overtime. Game 7. Stanley Cup Final. Leafs vs. Wings.

Kaberle will lose the game for us.

Posted by DigDeep on Mar-07-2004 03:27:

After tonight, i think they should try to figure out how to beat sub-.500 teams before they even think about the Stanley Cup.
