what do you guys eat for meals, i'm runnung out of serving ideas.

any of you peeps use cottage cheese?

Posted by Orbax on May-26-2004 21:51:

my life consists of spiral spaghetti thats half meat. and my super special teryaki.

1 chicken breast
half an onion
a stalk of broccoli
1 green pepper
10 mushrooms

sautee it all up, season with dill, pepper, garlic, ginger.

cook a cup of Basmati rice and drizzle teryaki over the rice. then put all that crap over it. THen I do a nice drizzle of tapatio/that hot shit at oriental restaurants with the chicken on the bottle (nuclear orange color) over the whole thing. Eat and wash down with cold beer while watching anime/someone else play Xbox/a movie.

Eat a cup every night before bed. The casein protein in it it slow digesting, allowing your body to feed off it through the night. Especially good to eat the night after a workout.

Aside from that I eat a lot of tuna, chicken, broccoli, cashews, oatmeal, flax oil, and that's about it. =\

Yeah, it's not the most enjoyable stuff, but it's a necessary evil.

all i can think of is fat peoples legs when I see it.

Just got back from working out. I was able to do 2 sets of 8 on flat db press after doing 2x8 60s and 2x8 70s. Im pumped. I havent lifted anything above 60lbs in 5 months or so since I tore my shoulder, this was my first real attempt at starting to move up to my old weights again. I think if I keep it easy and keep my rehab goin on my shoulder I should be able to do 90s soon and maybe in a month and a half 100s! yayyy im excited.

On the walking lunges, how many do you usually do? and how many sets? Ive been doing 14 out 14 back. 3 sets of it....more? less?

good question! i did some last night hehehe. usually i try not to do too many more than 3, just because i get so fucking exhausted. plus i would probably up weight once i could do more.

my friend was the king of walking lunge. he used to do them with seriously like 270lbs. i think the most i've ever done was like 180lbs. of course that was with rubber weights so you can drop them when you can't stand up anymore. it can be kinda dangerous if you do them by yourself with too much weight simply because you can get trapped under it just like any other exercise. that's what was nice about you the rubber powerlifting weights...is you could basically go til failure and throw it off when you couldn't stand up.

i miss those days *sniff*

that would be very nice to be able to do. How many lunges do you in each set though? Ive found that 14-14 pretty much annihilates me. Should i be doing less and more weight? like 8 out 8 back?

its really up to you. i think i usually do somewhere between 12-14 each way, but i think its a preference. over time i think you'll realise that the hardest part about walking lunge is the turn around. its just that stop of momentum that really gets you. so if you had room maybe you could even just go straight for like 20 or something and count that as a set. i just count there and back as a set because that's what i'm used to.

Posted by Orbax on May-27-2004 16:44:

i like the turn around gives me a second of rest hehe

You guys ever do lunges with dumbells or always with barbells?

i always do them with a barbell because if you try and hold them...your grip wears out too quick. plus you aren't gonna be able to do the type of weight i was referring to.

Posted by Radagast on May-28-2004 06:39:

Always with dumbbells. Strengthens grip. Do other leg exercises. Me hungry.

Posted by Omegasox on May-28-2004 09:35:

DB's as mentioned above. You need to strengthen your grip to assist in other exercises. Especially for Deads.

Posted by Orbax on May-28-2004 15:03:

the thing i hate about large weight DBs is this:

lets say you decide to start off with DB shoulder shrugs using 90s or 100s. You do 5 sets.

Now you cant hold onto any other friggin weights.

or if youve done all your exercises, now you cant hold on to the requisite weight for long enough.

so you can either start with DB lunges, and be tired and gripless, or do them at the end and not get as effective of a workout.

its the same reason I dont work my forearms out firt thing in an exercise hehe

Posted by Floorfiller on May-28-2004 15:10:

well...if you guys wanna do them with DB's...be my guest. i just know that you'll never get as good a workout doing DB lunges, than with BB lunges. like i said a few pages back...there is definite benefit from having the weight on your back.

Posted by Orbax on May-28-2004 15:12:

plus it can be hard to find 150lb Dbs

i think most people might be surprised by how flexible most pro bodybuilders actually are...

Posted by Orbax on May-28-2004 15:48:

Like Lee Priest wasnt it? that dude could knee himself in the face straight legged lol.

but I agree, they arent doing it to look "good" really. Its to see how proportioned, ripped, and dense they can become. You have to get really big to see it all correctly though. These guys look better pumped up and standing, but , yeah, its not an all around good look, and most people dont try to go for it hehe.
