Pacers won, now the Sixers have to play the Pistons. Looks like they'll be out before my finals are over.

actually I heard Shaq might miss game 1
I was seeing the Suns game 2night and they interviewed Nash and they asked him who should be MVP and he said Shaq, humble answer from a humble guy but he knows what he's talkin bout.
man the Cavs really choked huh, Kobe like any other team needs a good big guy, he knows it was a mistake what he did to shaq, maybe with what happened this year he'll change his ways

The Cavs choked -- classic! It's official: Cleveland sports really suck.

Does anyone else find it hilarious that Boston didn't play Pierce or Walker much late in the game? Because I'm surrounded by Cavs fans here at school, and they didn't find it very funny at all. hehe. But the Timberwolves didn't make it either

I think the suprise of this years playoffs is going to be the Rockets. I really like Van Gundy so this is why Im saying this.

Also the Heat and Nets series will go down to the wire. Nice matchup Wade vs Kidd!

Can't fault them for it, though. They would have done the same thing even if they were playing a team that had no hope for the playoffs. They rested them against the Cavs the game before, so they have no room to bitch.

also with the report that richard jefferson is coming back for the playoffs .. ..

there is no definate timetable when he's coming back, but reports say he is going to be ready for the playoffs .. the nets should provide the heat more than they can handle .. i hope new jersey plays smart and uses travis best wisely giving jason kidd the much desired rest during the game, so kidd can play the critical moments in the fourth quarter ..

So, it's about time to start Playoffs 2005. Sixers against Pistons, what a great challenge IMO! Iverson vs. Brown...

Posted by Mattsanity on Apr-23-2005 12:28:

IT WILL BE THE HEAT VERSUS THE SUNS IN THE FINALS, BOOK IT. Even though the Nets are my favorite team, they just have no answer for Shaq.

+1

Or maybe Heat vs. Spurs, but I hope that Suns will beat everyone in the West.

wow...game 2 between the rockets and the mavs was one of the best NBA games i've ever seen

Posted by Numb3rJuan on Apr-26-2005 05:53:

hell yeah it was. i'm surprised this thread hardly even talks about the rockets. i've read this whole thread.. and maybe twice or so have they been mentioned.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Apr-26-2005 19:02:

what a game the rockets-mavs was .. t-mac of course was awesome .. really showing his true superstar self .. when you are the star, take the shot .. (well technically, they have two stars .. yao and t-mac) .. what a combo ..

and i haven't noticed this until just now, but yao has really upped his game by 200% since last year .. i can't remember when yao was scrapping for balls, muscling in for rebounds and paint territory for the better percentage shot, altering more balls .. etc .. he is really starting to make a prescence for himself .. he knows that he is a great free throw shooter (awesome to be exact) .. what other big men can almost shoot 80% on the line, and make a prescence on the field ???

yao's got my respect now .. i thought he was too small to be a big man in the league, but i am wrong now .. kudos to none other than patrick ewing to show him the ways how to be the "big man" on the team ..

also, want to mention mr. finger waving himself dikembe mutombo is making a big difference for the rockets on the bench .. he by far imo is the most important entity for the rockets bench, because he creates defense for them .. i like jon barry and mike james, but dikembe has been awesome on the boards .. (and where did he get this winning attitude .. you don't pick that stuff up in congo (zaire) africa .. )

yeah we'll see how McGrady plays after he faces a bit of adversity and the family trait of not trying kicks in.Yeah i am a bitter magic fan

yeah i feel you there .. the way you feel about the magic is the same way how i feel about the hometown football new orleans saints ... they look good on paper, yet when they go on the field, that's a different story .. no heart .. no adversity .. no glory ..

but one of the main reasons why t-mac left orlando was that he was tired of losing, and having all the weight be put on his shoulders .. maybe some athletes like that, but it seems t-mac doesn't like that .. maybe it would be a different story if grant hill never injured his ankle severely .. or maybe it would be a different story if detroit didn't ride grant hill like a broken mule and keep whipping him .. that was the reason why he had that ankle injury . .. but that's the past .. if t-mac stayed in orlando, that would be a nice lineup of t-mac, dwight gooden, turkgolu .. (gooden would have stayed in orlando if t-mac stayed .. right ?? .. or maybe gooden had a different reason for leaving orlando) ..

Posted by SlackerBoy9 on Apr-26-2005 22:28:

juwan howard coming to orlando and them moving Gooden to small forward ruined his confidence and made him change his game...a very bad idea

true there .. you're right .. then again .. juwan howard should have shifted to pf, while gooden played sf .. but nope .. that's not howard's style anyways .. doesn't matter about juwan howard .. they have a better howard right now .. a dwight howard .. but you're right .. juwan messed dwight up ..

wow .. too many 'w''s floating around here .. just add george w. and that caps everything up ..

true

waits for Omegas lame "Without AI we woudnt have won even one game,
AI for MVP!" post

Posted by InterMilan31 on May-05-2005 03:03:

Watching alot of the Playoffs and I think the West is wide open, any of the teams can win but they all pretty much dont play defense except for the Spurs and Sonics. Last nights 4th quarter in the Sonics Kings game the Kings couldnt get a defensive stop at all

Posted by LeopoldStotch on May-05-2005 03:31:

i didnt watch game 4 of the nuggets-spurs, but just reading the stats tell me it was a very good game .. tim duncan fouling out in overtime, and then motivating his team by screaming .. "ok guys .. let's finish off what we started! " .. true marksmenship of a leader .. he doesn't have to put up the big stats .. he just needs to motivate and will his team to victory .. spurs have the edge out of the top 4 seeds right now ..

even though phoenix had a breeze against memphis, it doesn't count as much because

1- memphis was obviously overmatched by the starting 5
2- phoenix basically played their starting 5 throughout all the games..

this is going to fare very bad for the suns, because who knows what either dallas or houston will whip out on phoenix .. both these teams play some solid defense, and can definately contain phoenix down to under hundred points..

i can't really comment on either seattle or san antonio matchup, because that could get interesting .. if seattle steals a game from san antonio in either 1 or 2, then san antonio has to try a little harder to win on the road, compared to their beautiful work against denver .. it is very hard to win at denver, especially with that low atmosphere they got there ..

here's a question for you all ... what is the difference between kobe bryant and jermaine pargo, robert horry, shaquille oneal, and gary payton ...

kobe = no playoffs
the rest = key roles in their respective teams to win a playoff series ..

And they were very very close to set the series at 2:2, but they lost in OT... I've seen this game and You know Pistons win wasn't very fair result, they weren't playing the best basketball, Sixers were better, but sport is unfair...
