im happy that pods got into the all-star game. i think most of the people voting for him were fans that didnt want to see jeter get in.

LOL ... talking about the farm system. Check out the Braves ... their team is filled with farmhands, and local Atlanta player residents. As strange as it may sound, before this year my Braves have been just like the Cubbies are right now. But when there is no money to resign the big players, as in my case, farmheads take over and to my extended surprise, I am quite pleased as to what it is doing to my team right now the hated (by me) Cubbies were swept by the Braves in the 4 game series, including the double-header. I couldn't be more pleased. I hate them because 2 years ago in playoffs their fans were rude and mocked by Braves' tomahawk chant. I hate that disrespectfull attitude.

trust me, that tomahawk chant gets mocked everywhere

one game I went to in 2000, after the mets scored 10 runs in the bottom of the 8th against the braves to come back from a 8-1 deficit, the next inning, just about every fan was doing a mock tomahawk chop with their arms, sticking out their finger and singing to the tune of the chop:

"FUCCCCCCCCK THE BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVES, FUCCCCCCCCK THE BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVES"

Disrespect and Cubs fans go hand in hand. There are a lot of good Cubbie fans out there, but they seem to have so many more morons than any aother team. Who can forget the moment last year when the Cubs trolls were praying for hurricanes to cancel their series against the Marlins just to allow their players some rest days? Seems justice to me that their team is stinking it up right now!

well i disagree .. i think kerry wood has some good stuff, and his slider and curveball was starting to look real good, before he got hurt (once again .. ) .. but a healthy wood is a dangerous guy .. he needs to cool down on his velocity a bit, and stop depending on the fastball on every pitch, and then he won't get hurt ..

the guy who is overrated is mark prior .. he doesn't have any type of stuff other than the fastball .. he probably would make a better closer, than starter .. remember .. iggy from st louis was a starter with the mets, before he blew out his arm .. he figured he didn't want to do that again, so he became a closer, and look at him now ..

and yes .. the cubs were awesome back then with a young maddux, sandburg, and grace .

Well, I remember that, and frankly I am not a fan of Mets either. I undderstand there are always some fans at any stadium who dislike an opposing team. However, when THOUSANDS of fans are involved in such 'mocking' and hate activities, its more than that. In all the years I've been Braves fan, I havent seen any illicit behaviour by my fans ... only maybe some excessive 'GO BRAVES GO' 'BRAVES RULE' screams and cheers.

Gotta love the division rivalries

To tell you the truth until a couple years ago the team I hated the most were the Braves, I even hated them before the Marlins appeared.Plus I hate any team that does that gay Tomahawk chop shit, its annoying as hell, and especially when FSU does it with that god awful band . Yuck. Fuck you all.

But then the Cubs came along, god they suck.Their players, fans, manager, front office, all suck.
O shit Steve Bartman touched the ball(while a couple other dumb cubs fans were also reaching for the ball)its his fault, not the teams fault for giving up so many runs after it.I have a problem with any team that blames a loss on a curse.
my hated teams in MLB
Cubs
Braves
Red Sox
Yankees
Mets (a little)

what I love though is that the Marlins have ruined the seasons for the yankees, Cubs (in 1 year haha) and Braves , before , so I take some satisfaction in that.
And I hope my other fave team Cardinals keep it up this year.

Man, you are so harsh. To tell you the truth, I think that Tomahawk chant and band is not the kind of music I like to hear, yes its very cheesy and all. I got used to it. I like because it makes my team unique and recognizable. Just like the rally monkey I guess. To me it seems like you hate the teams that are doing well or are having strong fanbase. My team doesnt have A curse. Oh, and I didnt list all the teams that I hate and why, cause I generally take it easy, and even the Cubbies - I just dont like them, but I dont get angry or frustrated when they win or have success (against my team). Its ONLY a game.

sorry if it came out a little harsh, its just that last night I had a big night planned and Hurricane Dennis ruined it.So I let out my frustuation on here.Anyways you probably dont know me that well, most people in here know Im not the type "harsh asshole guy". I apoligize if I offended you

nah I dont only hate the good teams, actually hate is a strong word, its more like DISLIKE , theyve all been for seperate reasons,Cubs I explained why, The Braves when I started watching baseball in the early 90s, that was pretty much the only team I disliked, I just didnt like your team, so sue me lol,
Red Sox because I think their fans are way overated by the media, and theyre not that great, every team has great fans, just cause they hadnt won a series in 100 years didnt mean they were special, what about the White Sox, Jonze234 is suffering too damnit , they treated Buckner way to bad, and when they lose it was a "curse" and some other stuff I wont get into it.I found their team annoying the past couple seasons and especially last year.I dont dislike them that much this year casue they have Renteria my fave player.
Yankees cause I usually always root for the other team when they play in the world series, haha. You cant ask a Miami guy to root for New York now, right? Most people dislike them cause of their money , I actually sort of like them cause of that, I really think Steinbrenner is one of the best owners out there, simply cause he's not afraid to write big checks, he just needs someone better to advise him on to sign lol. From a business point of view I admire the yankees.
Mets, well division rivals , duh, but not that much for personal reasons, one of my best friends is a huge Mets fan so ill let it slide.

I still think the tomahawk chop sucks ass

Posted by Magnetonium on Jul-09-2005 17:38:

Well, I understand then. I can agree with you on the gayness of the tomahawk chop, but I do it, I got used to it, cause I am a fan of my team. I actually proposed and thought about doing a synthesizer version of the chop, hehe, which would be waaaaay better.

And the good thing is, no you didnt really offend me, though it was very harsh. I am used to getting trashed by people in real life, from Braves SUCK to Techno SUCKS to RUSSIA SUCKS to whatever.

Online, at least, people dont tell it to me straight to my face (if you know what I mean), and I am kinda used to all the dissing, so I didnt take it seriously. As sad at it may sound.

I just hate that chop cuz it's associated with florida state

Damn the nationals are starting to unravel here.. 3-1 series lost to the Mets, another 1-run (very close game against the Phillies last night, but were able to win) and then today a loss against the Phillies.

The braves are doing their thing again and climbing back up the NL East standings to come within 2 games now.

I'm hoping GM Jim Bowden will be making some good progress in getting good trades and players here to washington. We need more pitchers.

Yeah really
I mean why must they play that crap after every freakin play! ahhhhhhhhhhhh
They even play that shit when theyre in the Orange Bowl.Over and Over and.. , and then once they complained that the music on the stadium was too loud during their playcalling , they play that tomahawk constantly during Miamis playcallin.
O well thats why their QB thinks he's god
thats why theyre Wide right/left U
thats why their players are constantly getting arrested(then to make a comeback the FSU fans say well what about you guys at U of Miami, and we're like what about em, A Miami Hurricanes player has never been arrested and found guilty of anything while he's been in college, you can look it up )

ok I got that out of my system

on topic
man the Marlins lost all 3 games to the Cubs this weekend
the allstar break came at a great time, lets see if Mike Lowell finally wakes up in the 2nd half.
Oh and we gotta do somethin about Al Leiter, starting him is like blah a loss.
