Everton to sign Danish defender Kroldrup from Udinese and leading to chase Bellamy.

Still not sure about Bellamy. I think you could find a better target to spend what, 6 mil on a striker.

I think Figo would be a massive signing. He played 33 of Real's 38 league games this season, only missing the other 5 because of an argument with the manager (hence why he is now leaving), he also started all 10 of Real Madrid's Champions League games, scoring 4 goals. If it wasn't for his fallout with Vanderlei Luxemburgo he'd still be a regular in the Real team now. If he's good enough for Real Madrid, he's good enough for us!

Sky Sports were reporting this evening that Figo has been in talks with Newcastle and says he would like to go there but I get the feeling someone else is going to come in and scupper the deal at the last minute.

Newcastle are close to a deal with Emre from Inter Milan, should be sorted by the end of the week I imagine.

Saw that, still secptical though. GOing on how how he wants to join newcastle, yet no qoutes.

I still think he could end up anywhere, wouldnt really put newcastle as strong favourites.

Me neither, but it's certainly a possibility. We will have to persuade him to take a wage cut though.

The Emre deal is pretty certain though.

Chelsea seals deal for Del Horno from Athletico Bilbao.

Celtic chasing Ipswich defender Camara (who the heck is he?) and Wisla Krakow striker Zurawski.

Is that 4 million euros? If so, that's a bargain! Ok, he's not world class, but he's pretty good.

Turkey international Emre Belozoglu has confirmed he has signed a deal with Newcastle United.

Emre revealed earlier in the week that he had reached an agreement with a Premiership club but refused to name the team in question.

Newcastle have moved to the forefront of the chase for the Internazionale winger in recent weeks, after Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester United all held an interest in the past.

Magpies boss Graeme Souness flew to Istanbul on Thursday for talks with the 24-year-old and has persuaded the midfielder to move to St James' Park.

Fenerbahce had been keen to lure Emre back to Turkey but he is relishing the chance to play for Newcastle, citing Souness as a major factor in his decision.

"I'm a player of Newcastle now and I believe that I will be very successful there," said Emre.

"Newcastle United are one of the biggest teams in Britain and their offer was very attractive - that's why I chose to be with them.

"I'm going to a well-established and large club. I'm very happy for it.

"Of course, having Galatasaray's ex-manager at Newcastle was another strong factor in my decision."

Emre acknowledged Fenerbahce's offer but conceded it is too early in his career to play in his homeland again.

He added: "Many teams, including Turkey's Fenerbahce, approached me but I have always said that I wanted to play in Europe for many years to come.

"I am still very young, I do not want to go back to Turkey so soon as I have a lot to do yet."

Newcastle have still to announce the deal is completed as it is believed they are haggling over a 4 million fee with Inter.

maybe its cuz unlike portos style of play .... the english actually consider diving an unethical part of the game

Apparently the Emre deal could be off. The player claims he is coming to Newcastle but his agent says there is a disagreement between the clubs, possibly over the fee.

I wouldn't be surprised if another Premiership club uses this opportunity to jump in and try to seal a deal with Inter.

Nobody really likes diving.. but you guys take it to the extreme, seeming to prefer a bad player who doesn't dive than a good player who dives. Diving doesn't win games by itself (good teamwork does), and i have no doubts that it wasn't what won us the games against Celtic and Man Utd the last 3 seasons

Prepare to be flamed. LMAO

On other news, John Aloisi going from Osasuna to Panathaikos. He's had a good spell in Premier League before, and in recent Confederation Cup he has 4 goals in group stage. Would have been good pick up for any mid level team.

Unfortunately not. Freddy Shepherd loves the attention and Souness is just.... Souness.

I think we'll get Emre in the end as he's already declared himself a Newcastle player. It seems that either Inter want more money or the agent is trying to hike up the transfer fee so he can get a bigger cut. He's come out and said that Newcastle, Everton and "two other clubs" have made an offer for Emre but I question whether these two other clubs exist to be honest. Hopefully it's just the agent pissing about.

It's bloody irritating to play a team of cheats though. Espescially when they are getting away with it. I have to wonder if some of these southern European countries train their players to dive, because they are much better at it. It slows the game right down and they know it winds us up. Espescially when the game is being played in roasting heat and emotions are running high, there's just no need to try and wind up the opposition players and fans like that, it's really petty.

It was a massive reason you beat CEltic. YOu greasey cheating ****s where diving left right and centre.

PErsonnally if a player dives, he should be crunched in the next tackle so hard that its makes up for him getting a free previously.

I'd say it was one of the main reasons you beat celtic. Our team then played a very physical game, and where other teams would try to match us, porto decided the best way to win would be to fall over anytime a celtic player came near them. It meant winning challenges became near impossible due to fear of being booked becasue to their abismal play acting/time wasting.

On the transfer side of things

bellamy could be about to agree a deal with celtic. 5 million from newcastle
Allidiere (sp) could be on a load move for on season to the hoops.
Zurawski looks to be completing a move to parkhead too.

That's the stikeforce taken care of gordon, now how about a keeper, 3 new defenders and 4 new midfielders.

Striker John Carew to Lyon. I guess Houllier wants a good back up in case Govou leaves.
